#Amiga vs ST

They really aren't equal. The Amiga is a far more capable machine, with its multi-tasking operating system. There is far more serious software available for the Amiga. The only reason I can see buying the ST is if you're into music, though the Amiga can handle music just as well with an external Midi interface. The ST is cheap, and that's about all it has going for it.

Actually, if you're into games (who isn't), the Amiga sound chip is light-years ahead of Atari's cheap 3-voice oscillator, which is about par with the C'64 SID chip. And don't forget the Amiga is still the only micro with real stereo output right out of the box.

THe sound chip in the ST is the same chip used in the Intellivision game machine.

It all boils down to which features are important to any given individual, though I can't think of why anyone would want an ST, really…

I don't even think the ST sound is as good as the C64s. But I don't think sound is exactly the most important thing to look for in a computer, either… but the ST sounds more like an Intellivision.
