#DOWNLOADING MESSAGES
6 messages in this thread
THIS MESSAGE IS TO PRECEDE MESSAGE 21250 ! PREVIOUS MESSAGE I LEFT SOMEHOW
WAS TRASHED. ANYWAY… FUNCTION TO PERFORM: I wish to be able to download a
list of messages and replys (public of course) from the message area of the
forum. HOW I DO IT NOW (OR ATLEAST TRY): read in reverse order OR browse thru
each message individually. WHAT IS WISH TO DO: be able to enter range of
messages (since last log oon maybe) and automatically have system scroll them
(with replys) past me on my screen for the CAPTURE mode of my modem software
to store. Would be better yet if a file containing all this could be
downloaded. NO I'M NOT AN INFO JUNKIE ! I teach AutoCAD and like everybody
else ? wish to know what the GOOD and the BAD and the ugly are doing,
problems, SUCCESSES WITH AUTOCAD etc. I have no particular application, I am
one oof the fortunate who are expected to know it all (IMPOSSIBLE). Anyway
is there a way to accomplish what is needed ? I'm SURE there are many of us
out here who would BENIFIT ….. ultimatelly AutoDesk would. PLEASE SEND
COMMENTS TO Bob Cunningham , 312-351-0356 PLUG:
THIS EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION SERVICE THAT AUTODESK PROVIDES FOR THE
"AUTOCAD…" WORLD IS GREAT AND WE REALLY SHOULD BE GRATEFUL. I HOPE WE CAN
ALL TRADE IDEAS, ANSWERS, PROBLEMS **** FREELY *****…..
I'm sure you will get numerous msgs that say; look at Autosig.arc. It resides
in IBMNEW (go IBMNEW). It turned 40 min per session into 3 min per session.
Welcome -David
THANKS ALOT DAVID ! BC
Bob, the program called AutoSIG (also known as ATO) is great for message
management, most of us here at Autodesk use it. It is a public domain program
that you can download from the IBMCOM Forum. It has a function "T" (for
"Thread") that downloads all messages and replies starting with a specified
message number (default= last message read) and stores them in a file that
you can read and reply to off-line. The message file is a text file that you
can modify, rename, save, etc. It has an editor for composing
messages/replies off-line, and a function "S" to send messages to the Forum.
It's highly recommended, and we can help you get up and running with it. Go
for it! =SM=
THANKYOU, I WILL DOWNLOAD PROGRAM FROM IBM SIG.!
Bob,
As per my earlier message, the answer to your CompuServe needs lie in either
one of two programs that are available in the IBM COMmunications forum. (GO
IBMCOM)
AutoSIG (ATO) is a public domain program that does quite a lot for so little.
It will automatically thread / scan / read / reply to the messages in the
forum. I use it daily.
TAPCIS is a shareware program that does the same thing but offers a data
library management system and a few more user interface frills.
I know that one of theses packages will easily solve your needs.
