I still maintain that dogs and wolves descended from a common anscestor, not dogs from wolves. Its a minor distinction, though, and I'll let it lie.

Jeff, How's this for a "definative" answer…the dictionary: Dog..A domesticated carnivorous quadruped of many varities, the so-called 'Canis familiaris'; any animal belonging to the same family, 'Canidae', which includes the wolves, jackals, and foxes.
