I missed your question, only saw Don's reply. Are you having trouble
saving BB parameters? I've now gone through just about every combination
there is, and may be able to help.

There are two things I can't get it to save:
1) Full window
2) Interlace screen
It's a little thing, but still a pain, to have to set these when the AT
Bridge boots every time.
Is there a way to hand code them into the sidecar config file?

If you've look at sidecar.settings, you'll have noticed it's binary, not
text, so changing it directly is outside my experience, but you shouldn't
have to. I manage to save both. Some questions: 1) Are you trying to
save MONO, COLOR, or both? (You can easily force the COLOR window into
full screen by choosing more than four colors. But you shouldn't have to
do that either). 2) Are you using a third party graphics card? 3) The FIRST
TIME you saved your window settings, did you have BOTH WINDOWS open? 4)
Have you tried deleting the sidecar. settings file, and starting fresh? (If
you do, have both windows open when you save).
Sorry to answer your questions with more questions, but over the past month
I've discovered there are many different ways of handling these windows,
and some work much better than others. It's all complicated by the number
of different ways you can "save" things, and the several different files
that hold the information.

I have it set so that it boots up with a MONO window on a separate screen.
While I have both MONO and COLOR (I think that's right — I'm doing this at
home, and the bridge is at work) turned on, I only have the MONO
window/screen actually running. I select full window, two colors and
interlace. Then I save, using the menu. When I boot up again, it comes up
with its separate screen and all, in MONO mode, but no full window, and no
interlace. I have to go back and set them.
Now, I found a file called "sidecar.[something]" which I actually read
using a text reader, and it didn't appear to be binary, but a series of
text settings which had some parameters expressed in hex-style text — but
they were ascii characters reading as hex, like the equivalent uses in
AREXX.
I even deleted this file, and re-saved. Another file was created in its
place. That's why I thought you could hard code it.
Do you think it would work if I deleted the sidecar.settings file, opened
BOTH a mono and a color screen, set them up, saved, etc.?

when it comes up, it's a full screen, but is a dead screen, as in no MS-DOS
in it. The color window works fine though, and when I bought it, the dealer
did something with a jumper on the card, and said that he set it for color,
rather than mono and I got the impression, that it was an either or
situation. can you tell me what's what??

You can have both open at once…but only one will be working. And
just like any other MS-DOS machine…if you boot in color (the jumpers that
your dealer set)…you've got to tell the BridgeBoard to switch into mono
mode.
Type MODE MONO at the MS-DOS prompt, and now your color window will
be "dead" and your mono window will be active.
However, first make sure you have both MONO and COLOR set ON in
PCPrefs.

You CAN have both a color window and a mono window open at the same time.
I have my jumper on mono, but it should work either way. Make sure both
color and mono are set to ON in PCPrefs. Then open your color window as
usual, and type MODE MONO at the prompt. The cursor should go away. If
your color screen is small enough, just click on the mono icon. If it's
full screen, move it aside, and select the mono icon. You should get a
mono window (or full screen) with the cursor blinking happily inside. If
you don't, your dealer probably didn't open a mono window when he first
saved the window settings. You'll need to delete your sidecar.settings
file, open both a color and a mono window and start saving settings from
scratch.
