Valerie, Thanks for your reply. I've made some headway but also suffered a setback. I haven't been able to try changing the style sheet on the "good" machine. We're in the middle of installing a bunch of PS/2's and having do a few tons of file transfers. Oh the price of progress! About the fonts: part of the problem here is that the good machine doesn't have all of the fonts I need, so copying the *.wid file won't help. Also, another font problem has developed: If I print a page, it prints fine (all of the fonts are in the right place, etc.). But, as soon as I try to print the page a second time, it messes up. The general outline of the problem is as follows: 2 col head, 18 pt Helv. Under the head, in col 1, is a paragraph in 8 pt TR italic. Under this is the body copy, 8 pt TR. So far so good? The page shows up on the screen just like it is supposed to. I print the page and it prints fine. Now, if I try to print the page a second time the 8 pt TR italic turns into 18 pt TR, goes across two columns and overprints the body copy. But the screen still shows the correct fonts!! Everything else on the page prints ok. If I turn off the printer (HP LJ II with 2 meg of memory) and reboot the computer, the page prints ok one time. The 8 pt TR italic is an HP AD-series font and the fonts are handled by BackLoader. There are a couple of other pages that have the same problem. Any suggestions? By the way, are you the same Valerie Hood who was a journalism major at Ohio State in the late 60's? Larry
