#20423-Error IBMPOV
Message #20434
Dolf, I believe this means that you have a bad POVRAY.DEF. This file is used to record POV-Ray default settings. It sounds like you have a "/" in this file, which POV-Ray is choking on. This is not a required file; you may delete it; or fix it. The documentation…

Message #20429
Dolf, something in your POVRAY.DEF file, or on the command line, is probably wrong. Look thru your file & see if you can see something missing or go ahead & post it here. Also make sure you ar putting an "-i " or "-o" in front of the file name…

#Error IBMPOV
Message #20423
Have downloaded the POVIBM.zip file which has a Math Coprocessor emulation as you have suggested, however, on my 386 AT machine, 5 megs RAM, 7megs free disk space, with stacker, the povray and pov batch files give me the same error message: Bad default file format. Offending char: (/), val:47…

Software FPU no workee? The only other option is to recompile POV-Ray without the FPU requirement. In order to reduce software litter and confusion, the POV-Team has adopted a policy of "ONLY ONE SANCTIONED EXECUTABLE." But since we also provide source, any user is free to recompile their own version…

I've been following your efforts for a freeware VR animation system; they're very nice. Our InterChange Plus system of 3D translators does only polygonal objects at this time. We do have a DXF Converter for it, but it doesn't handle the polymeshes yet, although it does a lot of other…

John, that sounds like a rather nice idea… a program that can create a polygon mesh from the DXF patch information. It sure would be a nice piece of code for the freeware world! What with all us various rendering types around here, it would be really nice to have…

Thanks, John. I've seen the book, but don't recall if it had any source in it. John Swenson here has a partial 3D L-system programmed, but he's been hung up for a couple of years deciding on the parser language. (That's meant to be a spur in John's side). Read…

Sure, I can do that. They appear to have a nice L-system parser and 3D-data creating program in them… I recently saw a product that looks like it was based on the book, so I wondered if I'd missed the source code. There is 1 Reply. Read action !

A little correction to the description of "DXF3D.ZIP" found in library 11, uploaded 10-Jan-92. This is the *same* version of DXF3D.C found in the AutoCAD forum. (The file size is a little different, I think, because this archive contains the useless .OBJ file.) It does parse the flags that mark…

Has anyone seen the source code to the 'Pfg' program mentioned in the appendix of "The Algorithmic Beauty of Plants"? Or for that matter, there are several other programs mentioned there, called 'Spiral', 'Ise', 'Mapl', 'Panel', 'L.E.G.O', 'Ifsg'. These make objects and feed them to 'rayshade' for rendering. In the…
