#LISP EMPTY FILES
Message #21403
Michael, That is another indicator that the load failed, although it does not tell you why it failed. I would say from the sound of things, the system is only allowing one file to be opened, then no more. Wierd. Here is an interesting test, take the routine you wrote…

Well, I sometimes get to talk to the AEC class, so perhaps then. As for the starting a BBS you should investigate the IBM Communications Forum. (GO IBMCOM) I think they have a section set aside just for the purpose. Good luck with your BBS, also there is a list…

Welcome aboard! I am not familiar with Cross-Talk. I would suggest another protocol for transfer, though RXmodem (Relaxed Xmodem) should work. If you have Protocol B use that. One you have solved that problem, please consider downloading either ATO (AutoSIG) or TAPCIS from the IBMCOM forum. Both are excellent programs…

I have it here, I'm sorry it has taken me so long to mail it out. If only it was small enough to send electronically. It's called cylinder.dwg and off it goes. Looking forward to meeting you soon. The Flying Dutchman? Hummm Jamie

SSGET "X"
Message #21391
Because you are trying to SSGET an entity that is a point and a line. No such animal in my database. The SSGET is checking entity lists for both of those elements. You have to perform a separate SSGET for each different entity, color, layer, etc. You can then merge…

Registration
Message #21390
Computers? Humm, never thought about that. Where can we get one? But seriously, Craig, we are investigating the concept of "on-line" registration of software. CompuServe says it can be done but it's up to legal and management to decide. Thanks for the suggestion. Jamie

We just discovered that on Friday. Yes indeed it seems the User Directory got wiped out. Thanks for reminding me. It would seem it was a casualty of the forum change. I will see if we can get it restored, but I am afraid that may be a lost cause.…
Well, if you have to have the MSmouse driver in for Norton's then you may as well use the one for the MSmouse in AutoCAD. Like I said, I prefer it with the C-7 I use. Jamie

I will see about getting you 16 Access. Jamie
You would have to construct a Lisp routine to do this, and it would not be too hard to do. 1) build a main selection set of just lines 2) advance through the set pulling out the single line entities 3) using PEDIT, convert line to a pline and join…

Everything you did works just fine on my machine. (Compaq 386) I don't know what to say, if something that fundamental fails then there is something else going on and it isn't AutoLISP. What do you have in your autoexec.bat and config.sys files ? Are you working out of a…
We have seen this on Networks and the newer 130 meg and up hard drives. The current work around is to partition the section that AutoCAD is working with to 100 meg or less. Jamie
David, I moved it, sorry. It's there now. Jamie
Bryan, I do leave the access open only for a limited time, I have reset it and you should be able to see it now. Jamie
It all sounds really interesting. I think it could be something some would go for, but having a whole other computer system may inhibit a majority of your targeted market. It also competes with AutoShade & AutoFlix directly and I would think the total costs may inhibit most from going…
No problem, I checked the serial number and it is still registered to your friend. Please makes steps to resolve that. I didn't really think you were a pirate, they seldom make statements like "software my friend gave me". But it did seem odd so I had to "put my…
What version of AutoCAD do you have? The Series II works using the Laser Jet driver. Jamie
AEC Menus…Yes indeed you can EDIT AEC-A.MNU to add the pull downs. Of course this is dependant on your graphic cards ability to use them. One of the easier ways to star this is to cut the top portion of the normal ACAD.mnu (that contains all the pull down code)…
Bob, As per my earlier message, the answer to your CompuServe needs lie in either one of two programs that are available in the IBM COMmunications forum. (GO IBMCOM) AutoSIG (ATO) is a public domain program that does quite a lot for so little. It will automatically thread / scan…
Bob, I am not sure where I can help you except in the communications area. I would get a copy of either TAPCIS or AutoSIG (GO IBMCOM) to handle your messages. Both offer automatic passes and message retrieval. And make sure to set CAPS LOCK off next time. Jamie
Randy, You can order the ADI through your sales rep. It is here in DOCs only. Now Rando, are you guys a registered Developer? If so fill me in on the details. Brad can answer your last ques. grin> Jamie
Well, I wasn't "jesting". But I think there is a fairly clear issue you yourself brought up. In the Software Licence Agreement it does state you promise not to change the software. It also says you promise not to modify any copyright or trademark notice in the software. I would…
Well, what I should explain is, by "warrantee" I meant support warrantee. As in, we will offer support to you through normal channels as long as you don't alter the package's integrity. Like patching a driver, .OVL using non supported methods within LISP or in this case breaking the protection…

John, I hate to ask this, but what was the condition that your friend "gave" you his old AutoCAD? Unless he sold/gave it to you, complete, and you are now assuming the registration this is a serious violation of the software's copyright. Old version or not this is not legal.…

Ray, You should not be loading ANY driver from Logitech in order to use it with AutoCAD's Logi Driver. The driver Logi supplies is a MSmouse emulation driver and should not be loaded when using the AutoCAD supplied driver. I know the newer driver (DUD supplied) had some adjustments made…

Message #21235
Dick, first unprotecting AEC's lisp routine voids the warranty. Second the invalid character can come from a HIGH level ASCII character in the file, one that a word processor would leave. Check to make sure your Word Proc isn't leaving stuff behind. You can't currently add to ACAD.LSP that comes…

You would be best then to pop over to the Picture Support Forum. (go PICS). We currently don't have a GIF "driver" for AutoCAD but believe it or not there has been a wish for one. I can see a limited need for one but currently there are many GIF…

Well, like Duff said your list is pretty much future feature wishes, but there are ways to get some of these effects now. 1) You were on the right track with the pen width idea. The trick we have used is to take all the lines you want heavier, and make…
