#75618 #Imagine 2.9 PC Message #75635
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse February 27, 1994 10:55 AM
Imagine uses its own extender code to access EMS and XMS. This wont work with EMM386. You either have to reconfigure so you dont use EMM386, or turn it off with the 'EMM386 OFF' command (nothing must be using high memory for this to work). I just have a DOS-6…

Rick, I can now fix the F1280 problem with a CLS! I will send for the DOS 6 fix. Thanks, Phil Camp, UK.

William, Thanks for the reply, it seems Impulse have a DOS 6 fix out which I will send for. Phil Camp, UK.

Peter, I got the Imagine upgrade direct from Impulse, the upgrade fee for registered Amiga Imagine 2.0 users is $100. Phil Camp, UK.

Rick, After much playing I have tracked down the Imagine/PC with Farenheight 1280 VGA card problem. It appears that if the DOS text screen has scrolled at all, Imagine hangs when you start it. Running Windows was fixing it by reseting the DOS text screen. I have now found that…

Rick, I think its more than just the VESA needing initing. The F1280 board has the VESA on a ROM so there is no driver to load etc. The LINKS386 Pro game comes with a couple of utilities for showing the VESA status, these all run fine and indicate that…
#54995 #PC Imagine arrives Message #54997
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse April 17, 1993 6:03 PM
My copy of Imagine/PC also hangs when booted normally, but I have found that running and quitting Windows just before Imagine makes it work!. Since you are also having problems it seems like Impulse have not got their VGA initialisation sorted out yet. Phil Camp, UK.

Hi, Imagine/PC turned up this morning. After installation I have detected some strange circumstances when starting Imagine. If I boot my PC in a 'clean' state (ie. simple config.sys and autoexec.bat) with just the mouse driver loaded, when I start Imagine it hangs before it can show the intro picture.…
#28376 CD to WAV Message #28527
From: Phil Camp CDROM Forum · Multimedia October 13, 1992 3:42 PM
Dave, The SBpro quality will sound pretty poor compared with the raw CD output. Remember that the SBpro is sampling at a poorer rate AND only in 8 bits (so bang goes the dynamic range). Check the filter settings on the SBPro mixer (I turn both filters off). My SBPro…
#28285 #CD to WAV Message #28306
From: Phil Camp CDROM Forum · Multimedia October 10, 1992 4:23 AM
Dave, The simplest way to sample the CD is to use the Windows tools provided on the SBPro disks. 1) Start up windows. 2) Run "MEDIA PLAYER" and select "CD AUDIO" from the Device menu. 3) Run "SOUND RECORDER". 4) Run "SBPRO MIXER" and make sure the ADC input is…
#21058 MS Beethoven Message #21089
From: Phil Camp CDROM Forum · Multimedia May 6, 1992 1:34 PM
I have been running MSCDEX high with no problem. I did have a problem with MS Beethoven hanging, this turned out to be that the multimedia extensions had not updated my Windows 3.0 properly (none of the drivers got installed). I ditched Windows and reload MM windows from the CDROM…

This is a common problem with using Imagine. The secret is dont click on the image while it is being shown, as this activates it and Imagine wont cancel it. It you dont click on the image you can hit ESC to get back to the project screen. If you…

Laurie, Thanks for the tips. I have recently got other goods from the US via UPS and the service was excellent. The problem seems to be normal mail. I recently ordered some stuff from a Compuserve Mall merchant which got to the UK fine, was cleared by customs, but took…

Roy, Some of the Usenet objects are already available in AmigaArts. I think the archive was called IMGOBJ1 or something close. Try the new search ALL library function over in Amiga Arts. Phil Camp.

Hi Impulse, Nice to hear Imagine 2.0 news is on its way. Here are a couple of personal wishes for 2.0; 1) Zone rendering. I still miss this from Turbo Silver. I know the 1/4 screen size is very useful for a quick preview of the entire scene, but zone…

Please, when any news of Imagine 2.0 surfaces, post details here on compuserve. As far as I know, nobody outside of North America has ever received one of Impulse's newsletters. Phil Camp, UK.
Imagine NAN ? Message #25677
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse July 30, 1991 3:53 AM
While working with an object in the Detail editor, I have noticed that when you transform the position of the object/axis if you delete all the numbers from the X/Y/Z fields they are replaced by the characters 'NAN'. What does this mean?. If you perform the transformation the object/axis vanishes…
#24916 Flat wrap problems Message #24923
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse July 5, 1991 4:35 AM
Charles, Aha! Thanks for the tip. I had tried moving the IFF axis along the Y axis but had probably moved it too far, as any movement totally lost the IFF wrap from the plane. Phil Camp.

#19724 #Cycle Editor?? Message #19767
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse October 31, 1990 4:17 AM
Bob, It seems the bit I was totally missing in the Cycle editor is that GOTO also creates new frames, unlike in the other editors. It seems a simple cycle edit session would be; 1) Assign an object to the axis the cycle editor has created for you. 2) Select…
#Cycle Editor?? Message #19711
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse October 29, 1990 8:33 AM
Well, my copy of Imagine finally arrived at the weekend. Most things seem to be fitting into place, except for the Cycle Editor. Can anyone give me some hints as to how it works, even with the manual it is remaining totally opaque to me. To be more specific, I…
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 24, 1990 5:03 AM
John, Please add my name to the growing Imagine/TS user group. May I plead that the format of the group does not rely only on 'live' conferences. The cost of access from Europe precludes that being effective for us long distance users (a 2 hour CO would cost around $75).…
#18581 SilverLight Message #18582
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse September 5, 1990 4:12 AM
Brad, I made some spotlights in Silver which did not seem to leak. What I did was create a circular tube and place a flat circular disk over one end. If you make sure the disk is slightly oversize and make the tube intersect it you dont get any leakage.…

#17698 SV quirks Message #17727
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse July 9, 1990 4:58 AM
Karl, The stereo picture files used by TS/SV and the Haitex 3D stuff is slightly different. The Haitex stuff assumes that both images will have the same palete and ignores the second image's palette. TS/SV allows a different palette for each image. Use the IVIEW program to view TS/SV stereo…
SV on PAL systems Message #17436
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse June 21, 1990 4:18 AM
Firstly, thanks for the SV upgrade. It arrived yesterday. I have tried a few stereo traces but have hit a problem with viewing the results. Both IVIEW and the SHOW menu option seem to be getting the shutter timing wrong on my PAL A2500. A strip of screen about 2…

Sorry rick, cant do 800 numbers from the UK!. Also the work phone now gets itemised bills, no more cheap calls to the US 🙂 . All I want to know is what to send (master disk, manual front cover?) and how much money to get the latest TS. Phil.

From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Softwood May 15, 1990 4:09 AM
Yep, the compiler/linker use ARP. There was an option to turn off the file requestors in the compiler/linker, but I cant remember if the options were ever brought out to the config utility?. Phil.

Yes, as far as I can remember, the editor does all its own file requesting etc. I dont think it uses/needs ARP. Phil.
Sega 3D Glasses? Message #15905
From: Phil Camp Amiga Vendor Forum · Impulse March 23, 1990 8:04 AM
About a year ago I can remeber Impulse were developing an interface to allow the Sega 3D glasses to be used with the Amiga/Turbo Silver. Were these interfaces ever released? If they were, what is the price (inc UK shipping please). I have the X-Specs glasses but a friend has…
