#Cheap Cd32 worth it? Message #181522
From: Matthew Dodwell Amiga User Forum · Bridgeboard/AMAX January 11, 1995 3:47 AM
I've been looking at the CD32 recently as one chain here is offering it at NZ$200 or less. I've got a 1200 at present and I'm wondering how easy it would be to connect a CD32 to the 1200. The other option would be to get an external CD ROM…

#Memory,sas6.2 & CED Message #36470
From: Matthew Dodwell Amiga Tech Forum · C Programming August 20, 1993 6:35 PM
I've just got SAS 6.2 and CED 3.5 and I'm having a bit of a problem setting the system up. I've installed the compile.CED file as suggested from the extras directory but whenever I compile with cygnus running the sc command it returns a fatal error – could not allocate…

From: Matthew Dodwell Amiga Tech Forum · C Programming July 14, 1993 1:42 AM
Doug, Thanks for the message. On the pricing issue is it worth me buying 6.3 now. I've been meaning to for the past month but have wanted C++ as well and didn't want to buy SAS C and another publisher's C++ so this is the answer. 🙂 If I go…

Doug, I'd also love to see a C++ compiler. I can totally agree with wanting the nice features of the PC platform editors on the Amiga. I have to use Visual C at work and when I get home to work on a machine I enjoy I have to move…

From: Matthew Dodwell Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware April 14, 1993 1:37 AM

Is there any way, software or hardware of displaying the Super Hi res mode without the screen flicker? I've got a 1200 and 1960 and am using the double PAL mode but it just isn't as sharp as Hi res. Thanks Matthew

From: Matthew Dodwell Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware March 31, 1993 4:47 AM
Bob, Thanks for the update. I'm using DblPAL and yes it's not bad I'm just disappointed. I'd always thought that a multisync would give me flicker free – Oh well I'll just have to satisfied with what I have I guess! Or should I try to swap this 1960 back…

Thanks for the reply – Secondary question is would I get rid of this flicker with a monitor like the NEC 3D in super hi res or can I get anything that will do the job on this 1960? Thanks Matt from Auckland NZ
#Screen Flicker Message #93453
From: Matthew Dodwell Amiga User Forum · Amiga Hardware March 29, 1993 12:16 AM
I've just taken delivery of a second 1960 monitor (the first was DOA) and in laced modes I'm still getting screen flicker. I'm running a 1200 in super hi res laced mode and thought that this flash new screen wasn't supposed to do a good imitation of my old 1084.…
