Message #190065
I'm using ani Pro on a 486-dx2-66 with 32mb ram and the program seem to be very slow to load. From entering ani, it seems to be about a minute before the program is up. Same for aniplay and aniconv. Does anybody know what its doing for so long and…

#3ds to Acad to 3ds
Message #169949
It is a bit of a toss up which forumn I put this in, but here it is. Autocad R13 has the ability to reading and editing a 3DS file, which is great for tweaking meshes. Question is If I take a job from 3ds into autocad then back into…

Message #168319
Can somebody tell what the PAL version of the Par is currently selling for in U.S. I read that the PVR will sell for the same price but as yet I don't know how much that is. The agent in Australia wants $4995 + tax for a Par. (What a…
#Making mesh from
Message #165340
What is the best way of creating a mesh to approximate ground from a contour map. If I've got a map of an area with the contours marked, how do I create a mesh that can be used as the ground in a rendering. Kim !^NavFont01F0007MGHHGA706EA

>but read them at the computer and try things as you go, STARTING with the tutorials. All your questions will be answered this way. Hi, I was actually doing that, but I has some other questions that I explained very poorly. (that will teach me to ask questions first thing…
Hi Jack, Sorry, but I don't think I explained my question clearly. ———————————————————————- — >You're confusing some core 3DS concepts here, Kim. My first recommendation is that you go through the tutorials. Beyond that, notice that you mention Surface/mapping/apply obj. and compare it to Surface/material/assign face. In the one case,…
#Mapping Questions?
Message #155772
Some questions I came upon while reading throught the manuals. I've normally used Surface/mapping/apply obj. but I found a command Surface/material/assign face and I'm wondering about ways it can be used. I'm assuming that surface/material/assign face is the same as face mapping in the materials editor. Is face mapping the…
#Copyright release forms?
Message #154871
I'm looking at getting a form which I can get a client to sign so that I can use graphics that I make for them in my own promotions etc. If anybody has any such release forms which they use and wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love a copy. Thanks, Kim
> I'll make sure to forward this idea to the product manager. jonas[adesk] Maybe you could also make the suggestion to the marketing group for Autocad. Perhaps an offer for when the NT version is released. Thanks, Kim

#Disapearing Decal?
Message #153271
I made a model of basically a box with a front panel sitting on top and a hood over. On the panel is a material with a decal. When I render it from certain views the decal disappears. It shows as it should when rendering on the screen but the…
#Ownership of graphics?
Message #152537
I was wondering, if I do some renderings for somebody and I want to use them in my portfolio, do I need to have them sign a release or is it ok. Thanks Kim
#Texture Universe
Message #150218
Can somebody give me some opinions if the texture universe CD is worth buying. In Australia it is "at a special price of $299". At this price it would need to be pretty good. I've got the Cd that came with R3, is the new one more of the same,…
#Rendering in Aust
Message #150217
Just enquiring about bureau's in Australia for 3DS output to tape. I'm just a beginning wannabe and can't afford $4500 for a par, but would like to be able to get some medium/high quality output. I was thinking I could do the rendering to sequencial files, dump them onto a…
