Hey, can you please upload the tips to CIS? Thanks..
#196378 PVR USERS? Message #197089
Hey, if you're still having Speed Razor issues, please let me know.
Please see my .txt file in the Want Ads section about our new PVR specials! Then, please contact me via e-mail.. Thanks!
PVR and trueSpace! Message #197076
FYI, I just uploaded a file containing our newest limited time offers on the DPS Perception Video Recorder (PVR) and Caligari trueSpace SE/trueSpace2. (Which many people use to do great animation and ray tracing of 3D Studio and Autocad stuff.. Very reasonably priced!)
#193798 DPS PVR Distributors? Message #194646
We have 'em in stock again.. But, they do go quick!
#193634 DPS PVR Distributors? Message #193642
Oh my.. Checking, eh?
Please ask me this in private e-mail.. (Darn forum rules..) Thanks!! You'll be happy!
Interesting.. Thanks for the information..
>> Do you still have a PVR 2Ft. behind you or are they already gone? How much and how can I pay for it? I just noticed your CIS User ID, and you must be in Europe somewhere, right? FYI, the PVR's I stock are NTSC.. Do you need PAL?…
>> They already have, his description is the one DPS published. There is info in the librarys. You'll notice that my description is "similar", but not "exact". That was from memory, but I must admit — it did come from many hours of phone calls explaining the boards to (potential)…
OK then, I'm still waiting to hear back from you.. (Tag — you're it..)
We should take this to private e-mail, but I do have 2 PVR's and one AD-2500 sitting less than 2 ft. behind me!! BTW: My phone# is 810-704-0189. Your lucky day, 'cause I'm having one "heck" of a special now..
#191179 Can't fit cards Message #191510
Good question — I have not tried that either, but am waiting on a piece to try.. If I find out, I'll definately let you (all) know.. Thanks!
Neil.. If you want *very* detailed information, please private e-mail me, and I'll be more than happy to send you a ton o' informaiton.. In a nutshell, PVR is the "Perception Video Recorder" — it's made by Digital Processing Systems, Inc. It's a fantastic PCI card that lets you record…
>> The PVR doesn't stripe drives as far as I know. I would get the 9GB if you want that much storage outright. Hmm.. The DPS documentation says that you will get uninterrupted playback, even if they span multiple hard drives. True, this isn't disk striping, but it will do…
#189637 PAR/PVR Message #190688
Craig — I'm very familiar with both the PAR and the PVR (which isn't by Digimation, BTW, it's by Digital Processing Systems). In a nut shell, they both provide excellent quality output, and are a breeze to install/use. The PVR is better quality, newer technology than the PAR, though. One…
Mike! Thanks! I'll e-mail you ASAP!
>> What does "RSS" stand for? It stands for Reliable Software Solutions, Inc. >> Do you do your own hardware ratings? Not "officially".. We can talk in-depth about this if you're interested.. Hope to hear from you..
Psst.. I have 2 PVR's on the shelf waiting to go, and one AD-2500 daughtercard (video in).. E-mail me if you're interested..
#189099 #PVR & Win95 Works! Message #189304
With the NT or Win3.1 drivers?
According to DPS, here's the list: Micropolis: 4221AV 2.0GB 8 Minutes 3243AV 4.0GB 16 Minutes 1991AV 9.0GB 36 Minutes Seagate: ST-32550N 2.1GB 8 Minutes ST-15150N 4.3GB 16 Minutes (Minutes are approx. Recording Times..) These are the drives that have been certified for use with the PVR..
I just received a shipment of my current back-orders.. We've got 'em now (when we can keep 'em!), so I would imagine that you should have one soon, too..
>> Does it support texture mapping ? Nope.. Sorry. Not *this* product, but..
#12800 Memorial Day Message #12816
No.. Not by a long shot!
Hey, you've given me new inspiration! For our trueSpace CD, I'd like to request from anyone listening here, that they send in songs/music/sound F/X too! Many trueSpace people need that kind of stuff for backgrounds, etc.. So, if you have created and *own* the rights to it, then please send…
#12731 Version 2.0 Message #12801
Well, obviously, this is impossible, since Caligari isn't ready. Could be that they're creating a list, and will "back-order" you, or something similar.. I'd be worried about a place that says they'll ship before a product is ready..
#12670 #Version 2.0 Message #12717
Who was it?
#12700 #Interactive stuff Message #12716
Didn't you see the cigarette (sp?) smoking in the turret demo, and the Pine air freshener? More than I've seen in most others..
#12701 #Interactive stuff Message #12715
viewSpace isn't on the CD, but it *is* in the forum. I was going to suggest that, but I wasn't sure if you could throw your textures to them.. I was looking for a smaller, more compact answer.. I think in your case, it'll be great, since they can play…
Ken, sorry to dissapoint, but I was telling Konstantin that his mailbox was full.. Liked the matchbox.. Keep 'em coming! You should first PKZIP all .cob's and/or .scn's.. Then, just upload them like you did your .jpg's.. C 'ya..
#12669 #FLIC To AVI How? Message #12713
Premiere has a ton of options for it's output.. It also has quite a good manual. I'm not in front of our workStation with Premiere loaded, and I can't remember all of the options, so I'll have to get back to you on this. The important thing to look for…
#12629 #FLIC To AVI How? Message #12662
Sorry, but your problem is the pallet, right? .fli's are 8-bit and .avi's are 24-bit.. Is that what you were saying? If I read this wrong, please let me know..
#12592 #uploads Message #12661
Jurgen.. When you U/L files to CIS, the forum's Librarian (a person — Jenee Burns) looks over everything, then moves it into place where others can get to them. Usually, it'll take about a day, since Jenee is so good at what she does.. (Are you reading this, Jenee? )…
#12630 Graphics boards Message #12660
Mike. I agree with you. If you have the money, it's not a problem trying to find enough stuff to throw it at. Unfortunately, the "masses", aren't the ones with that kind of budget.. (At least, the people I hang out with.. Maybe I need to make some rich new…
#12521 #VfW to Quicktime? Message #12579
Ian, aren't the Mac QT and QTW (Windows) formats a little bit different?
#12535 #Graphics boards Message #12578
I agree with most of what you're saying, but game development for PC systems is really moving back quite quickly to development on the PC itself.. (Graphics wise) Just ask Ian! Sure, you can get the $5500 SGI, but then how much is your software going to add to that?…
#12567 trueSpace Targa Message #12577
Yes, it's standard RLE compression. I know that I use tS-based RLE .tga's with Premiere, Photoshop, Razor Pro, etc.. I've never seen any .tga get bigger than without RLE, but stranger things have happened.. Care to U/L the file to the GRVENC (tech. support) Sysop file area, then I can…
#12518 Graphics boards Message #12576
Thanks!! I'll "make you a deal you can't refuse" after I establish a contact..
#12510 VfW to Quicktime? Message #12517
I think Adobe Premiere can do this. I'll check when I get back..
#12483 #Graphics boards Message #12506
Can you please get me a contact at L-M? Thanks..
Well, I've got stuff on both the trueClips CD and I did the opening animation on the CompuServe Feb/March CD.. If you want a 14.4 modem, let me know.. I've got a used one I'll let go for a song (or maybe some cool stuff for the CD ) >>…
#12494 #trueSpace CD Message #12504
>> How 'bout bakshish? Sorry, maybe it's late, but I don't get it.. What?
#12459 #Shadow effects Message #12470
Sorry.. No radiosity in trueSpace2. I don't think "the door is closed" there, though.
#12449 #Shadow effects Message #12453
>> Makes animation difficult, but helps with diffuse interreflection in interior stills. Yeah, neat trick — I'll have to remember it for some things, but difficult isn't the word for most animations! Radiosity would be better suited for that kind of thing.. :-{
#12372 #Graphics boards Message #12390
Michael and Konstantin have both told me that it's just a matter of the boards catching up with the software. Since Intel's 3DR handles it and Caligari wrote to that spec, I don't see the problem. Maybe what you heard was either someone saying "today, the Matrox (or whichever board…
#12312 Help-Out the New Guy Message #12361
One further note to Ian's very helpful explination: if you chose to use individual .tga's for your animations, lets say to assemble into other programs, or to the PAR for video out, trueSpace will save them in compressed (RLE) format. (trueSpace 1.04 will do this automatically.) trueSpace2 will give you…
#12295 #Graphics boards Message #12360
>> But will the software support the texture mapping? I already have a Matrox Impression plus. It makes the >> pipes screen saven in NT jam, but until truespace 2.0 come out it won't do me much good. Also TS 2.0 >> only renders real time on solid modeling and…
