Don and John, I have (on page F-3 of the A500 manuel, for the FAT agnus) pin 34 being the THIRD up from the bottom. The 28Mhz clock input. The manuel was printed in '87.

Digipaint (from NewTek) will allow 90 deg. rotations & flips, but it will convert the picture to HAM. David Dowdle
I think that it is not possible for the HOST to detect loss of carrier. That is why most BBSes have a 'no-keypress-in-30-seconds' warning/autologgoff. Evan CIS does, but useses up to 15 min to wait. David Dowdle

Evan worse than you state it. Last I heard (from a Portfolio owner/distributor_ it WON'T LOAD OTHER PROGRAMS, just serial port text files! Atari techs are trying to figure a bypass to this David
Could the Unix system require xon/xoff or RTS/CTS/ or neithor? Have you tried at a slower speed, maybee the Amiga is slowing down due to other programs in the background? Just postulations. David M.D.
