I'll play around with it and see. It sure would be nice to set up several PCs at work with OS2 and let them run as background slaves. The people in the office just are not that happy about returning to their system from lunch and finding it rendering. Go…
#3DS w/OS2 Message #70344
After following the thread on OS2 vs DOS, I was intrigued enough to pick up a copy of OS2 to see for myself what was better. All is running well under OS2, except that it will not render in the background. What settings are required to get 3DS3 to render…

I'v talked to Orchid and they say that new P9000 drivers will be out about the first week of Jan. I think I'll have to wait until then to push beyond what I've got so far. Tim

I have just installed OS2 on a system with an Orchid P9000, and am still struggling with getting them to work together. Does anyone have any experience with the P9000, OS2 and 3DSR3?

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. BTW, is there a limet to the size of model in 3DS? Tim
I'll give that a try and let you know what happens. Thanx, Tim
Has anyone experience the unwanted shifting of objects in the Keyframer? I am working on a very complex model of an aircraft hangar, and have been plagued with the last couple of objects sometimes shifting location. I have checked all keyframes for those objects, and do not think that is…
Thanks Kevin. I guess I'll just have to continue my quest for speed in faster CPUs. Tim
I do have one application that requires the board set, so it is not a total waste of money. But, like I've said before, I is hard knowing that there is a Weitek sitting in there that isn't usable. Speaking of which, does anyone know if there is a 50mhz…
Thanks. I was afraid of something like that. It seems like a shame to have that Weitek sitting inside there and not to be able to use it though. Tim

Has anyone had any experience with running 3D Studio 2.0 with the Silicon Graphics Irisvision board set? I've tried using the EXP driver that is supplied with the boards, but the rendering seems to actually take longer. There should be a way to utilize the Irisvision boards to there maximum…
