One of my clients is a software developer in the industrial manufacturing market and with price tags of $10,000.00 per license, they surely do use a dongle on there product. I do need to run it to get screen dumps for literature and manuals and having even more than one…

> Well, there's no disagreement here. I personally make sure that I'm as legal as possible (given some of the cryptic licensing agreements that even the company's lawyers don't quite understand). I would sooner see some sort of software encryption or other means to prevent piracy. I understand the dongle,…

Not quite sure about the question, but I'll tell you *everything* . I've got 5 PC's (three business and two personally) from a lowly 386/33 ISA machine all the way up to a Pentium PCI/SCSI machine including a multimedia notebook for remote presentations. I also have acces to (though I…

I am a relatively new user of A:M, but I have already got some really impressive rendered frames out of it with minimal effort. I just got Caligari's Truespace for type manipulation. Add that to the character features of A:M and I've got more features (for my needs) than 3D…

You're right about the person-thing in any field. Technology is stupid. It just blindly follows the instructions (albiet sometimes wrong) of the user. Hopefully it's our growing up in the "trenches" of the first releases of these programs that will help us think and be better animators for it. Charlie

I guess I've been blessed in that respect. I have a client who (aside from being a LARGE information systems company) understands the amount of time that goes into this and who is willing to pay for it. Personally I think they have the right attitude. They like the 2D…

Pawel, what's your take on TrueSpace for "flying Logo" work. I mainly need io include it in Director movies. While a lot of this stuff is still new to me, I've been a professional artist for 15 years and a computer enthusiast (aka "nerd") even longer. I am having a…

While we're on pet peeves, (we still are, aren't we?) I would like to see a material preview on both a flat and a curved surface. It would help ever-so-much in figuring out what's going to happen when light hits it. I am a relatively new user (since July) of…

OK, *now* what did I do wrong? I spent 5-1/2 hours rendering a 5 second animation and instead of getting an .fli file (shows "0" bytes in filemanager) I get 120 .tga files. Can I asssemble them into a .fli file? Charlie

I put together a test animation (took about 6 hours to render) and now when I go to play it I get a GPF in AAPLAY.DLL [0001:XXXX]. I've tried several different players to view this and it is always the same GPF. The animation was built in VGA resolution. Any…

OK, I have a right triangle that I imported from a DXF. I extruded it into a wedge shape. Even though the face of the triangle has only three points it is still a hole. Is this something peculiar to DXF imports or do I need to do something to…

I am admittedly just a beginner with your software. I am truly impressed. I sure as I do more with it I will have more questions, but right now I have just a couple. 1. In the manual it states that it is possible to have the render module installed…

I am also experiencing a very constant GPF in RENDER in 5434H.DRV (video driver for Diamond SpeedStar64) at 0002:0215. I suspect the video driver since it doesn't happen in plain VGA, but plain VGA is ugly and doesnt give accurate previes of 256 color bitmaps. I was wondering if you…

I keep getting an application error in module when I try to delete control points in sculpture. Usually the address is IIgI4297:995DWIN386. I am running Windows version 2 of AM on a Pentium 66 with 24 MB ram. Any thoughts? Charlie
