Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for it and is the program actually on the three disks? What's on the CD, textures and models? -victor
Thanks for the info. -Victor
Yeah, same as me. The 32 bit SCSI drivers wouldn't work consistently for me so I had to use the DOS real mode drivers. -Victor

I was wondering what the retail price of Lightwave for NT is. Also, is there a student discount price? I know that Autodesk(3DS) has one and Impulse(Imagine) was willing to substitute a competitive upgrade price for the retail price. Additionally, is there a flyer or something for LW as well…
#LW for NT on Win95?
Message #12440
I don't have this program yet but I may buy it if it works on Win 95. If anyone has tried this on Win 95 let me know how well it works. -Victor
LW Demo
Message #111498
I had heard that there was a demo for Light Wave. Do you know how I may request it if it does exist? -Victor
Do you happen to be using the real mode drivers instead of the 32 bit CDROM drivers in Win 95 too? -Victor
Thanks again for your reply Greg. Sigh, I guess we'll have to live with those darned dongles until they come up with a better copy protection that isn't so annoying. -Victor
#Imagine- dongle?
Message #12153
I was wondering if Imagine is dongle copy protected like 3DS. Someone informed me that 3DS comes with those hated dongles and that some add-on products have dongles too! I for one do not want to use multiple dongles. -Victor
Thanks a lot! 🙂 -Victor
I'm sorry but I love Voyager. Actually, I take that back, I'm not sorry! 🙂 Compared to DS9, Voyager shines like a star. I think the characters are very well done and compared to ST:TNG's first season, this season was much better. If either DS9 or Voyager were to take…
#Need info.
Message #12021
I'd like some info. and a feature list on Imagine. I was told that it was a decent program which rivals 3DS despite some annoyances with the interface. Whom should I direct this request to? -Victor
3DS-cheapest I can get
Message #156799
I was wondering if anyone had any advice as to where I can get this program for the lowest price. I'd like the latest version whichever it is. -Vic
When is the new version coming out and where can I get a copy of it. I never see any high-end graphics packages in the software stores I frequent. How much is the new Imagine? -Vic
#Imagine?? How is it?
Message #71930
I'm new to this product and would appreciate someone giving me the lowdown on it. I'm an IBM comp. user who isn't too impressed at the raytracing/modelling software out these days. They're either too expensive or not very good. I've heard some nice remarks about this one but no real…
NEC or Toshiba
Message #48709
Shirish, This Toshiba drive sounds pretty decent in the high end area. How much are they selling the drive with the SCSI interface??? Around $600?? -Vic
Good one Sam! I also prefer mountain bikes and there's a soft spot in me for White_Marble too! -Vic Read action !
Touche' Dan -Vic Read action !
You boys speak as though raytracing is relatively new. While I think it would be better to learn how to use the renderer w/o the GUI the fact still remains- CLI interfaces are difficult to use! I realize that at one point people didn't have the luxury of asking for…
#Visual Basic and POV
Message #20554
I just recently started using POV and I find it annoying that it doesn't have a GUI. I downloaded POVCAD to solve this problem but I don't have Visual Basic. Where is it? I looked all over for it! Is this the best choice for a GUI for POV? This…
It's funny how we are using the CD ROM forum to discuss a completely different online system. I'm sure this is annoying some Sysop somewhere. -Vic
