Fargo on line? Message #154180
From: Dave Gray Amiga User Forum · Forum Business/Help June 27, 1994 11:15 AM
I notice in some of the sales lit that Fargo (of Primera fame) are supposed to be on CIS somewhere. Anybody know where?
WB Pictures Message #97199
From: Dave Gray Amiga User Forum · Using 2.0 – 3.0 April 25, 1993 6:04 PM
Does anyone out there really understand how the WBPattern stuff works in 3.0? Here's my tale… I am trying to put some fairly neat (well, I think so) pictures up on the Workbench background. I had been using Nickprefs on my 2000 for this. The big deal is, what I…

I can think of several explanations. If dh0:c/play was damaged (I think thats mentioned in another reply) it wouldn't work. Is play callable from the workbench? There are some older programs that are only useable from the CLI. Also, does the program do what you think it does? I have…
#93683 #ROM Problem Message #93705
From: Dave Gray Amiga User Forum · Forum Business/Help March 31, 1993 10:21 AM
There was a program around here for those of us who had a 2630 accelerator when 2.04 came out. It had a program that read the rom into a file, then you used SETCPU to load & boot the rom image. Clunky, but it worked 'till the 2630 roms came…
#CPU & '040 Message #32472
From: Dave Gray Amiga Tech Forum · System Software February 24, 1993 6:15 PM
Does anyone know why the fastrom option of cpu doesn't work on my 4000? I'm pretty sure it has the full 68040 (vice the 'EC040) (But then again, how does one tell short of eyeballing the chip?) Or is it even needed?
#MPEG Library??? Message #24890
From: Dave Gray Amiga Arts Forum · Forum Business/Help December 24, 1992 10:28 AM
What is,and more importantly, WHERE IS 'ixemul.library', as REQUIRED by the MPEG viewer? I absolutely LOATH postings that require additional (non-standard) libs, and don't EVEN BOTHER to tell you that they are required 'till after one has downloaded 1/2 Mb of data… GRRRRR….

As it happens, all that is now moot. Steve is back, and yea, verily, the magik bullet hath fixed 1.9H, but good. (Thanks Steve, if you're listening) Yay team.

#ATI Message #42104
From: Dave Gray Amiga Vendor Forum · Gold Disk August 2, 1992 2:14 PM
Does anybody know what has become of Steve Ahlstrom? I have been unable to get updateG2H to work, and nobody seems to be home at ATI's ppn. I notice that Steve doesn't appear to be reading messages here, judging by the headers that I see going by. Anybody know what's…
#18396 Problems! Message #18397
From: Dave Gray Amiga Arts Forum · Forum Business/Help April 16, 1992 1:16 PM
Edplayer was indeed written by Ed Mackey (ELM4@ns. cc.lehigh.edu) See EPLY11.LZH. There is a listing of the libs in Lib 1, I do believe. It may be somewhat dated.

Kahlid: Sorry I took so long in getting back to you. I had to get the script I was using from my work machine. OK. I have 2 machines I use regularly. My home machine is a 2000 with a 2630 accelerator. My work machine is a 2000 with no…

Kahlid, I just downloaded & tried your file requester. It WORKS with ADPro! Well, almost. If you call up a file requester through AREXX (using the GETFILE command) it blows sky high. 'Tis a shame, 'cause I'm working on a script that will let me save a file, and attach…
#2.0 Update Message #16252
From: Dave Gray Amiga Tech Forum · Hot News and Rumors November 11, 1991 12:57 PM
YAHHOOOO.. Just (finally!) got my 2.04 upgrade running. Whatta pest! I have a 2630, and no rev 6 roms, PLUS a CLtd. Kronos hard disk controller. I had spent about 12 hrs this weekend, getting a config that I would live with. Thanks to SetCPU, and Hazy's note as to…
#13493 Off-th-wall UNIX Message #13497
From: Dave Gray Amiga Tech Forum · Amiga UNIX August 18, 1991 5:04 PM
Rob The machine you are looking at had several incarnations. It was variously the AT&T Unix PC ,the 7300, the 3B1, etc. Hmmm… that Unix shouldn't be all that small, it was supposed to have a full System V, release 3.0! Try taking a gander over in UNIXFORUM – they…

Ummm, I just tried to get a catalog of your download library (AMIGAVEND Lib 6) – I just got the message that "This Library Contains No Files". Did somebody forget to pay their CI$ bill? Is CI$ getting senile? Tune in tomorrow, same Bat-time, same Bat-channel…
#8800 AMAXII Buggy?! Message #8863
From: Dave Gray Amiga User Forum · Bridgeboard/AMAX December 11, 1990 11:44 AM
Can't say much about your other problems, but a green screen on AMAX boot is completely normal – it just means you have a 68030! I have been using AMAXII since it came out, and have had only 1 crash (my fault, I tried to load a file into MacPaint…

George: This gets confusing. RES2: (SCSI address 0) is not a 'real' partition. It is A) the location of the 'hardblocks' that tell the controller what the drive is at boot time, and B) tells prep the location (SCSI address) of the drive. The partition prep asks you about will…
#Amax II Message #1145
From: Dave Gray Amiga User Forum · Bridgeboard/AMAX September 19, 1990 1:35 AM
Forgive me if this topic has already been discussed – I have been off CI$ for a while. I just got AMAX II – does anybody know if there exists, or has a reasonable chance of existing, a driver to use a Kronos hard-disk controller? I am going to be…
#115054 #16-color Workbench Message #115275
From: Dave Gray AmigaTech Forum · System Software August 1, 1990 12:52 PM
Uhhh, the reason for your problems is simple – hambench switches to lo-res (320 pixels across) – you MUST do that to go into HAM.(That's a hardware limitation – if you try it, you'll just get a blank screen). The reason for the crashes you are having IS explained in…

Harry: Try formatting the picture to medium res – 640X200 screen. Them set the color control to "Custom". Go to the palette screen & do a get WB colors. Freeze the palette, then set dithering to your favorite mode (you will want to experiment there) & re-render. Odds are, you…

From: Dave Gray AmigaTech Forum · System Software July 30, 1990 11:57 AM
Ummm.. no reason that I can think of that it wouldn't work, albeit you would have to look at the screen struct after you open your window to find out that you were running under hambench… Actually, I don't see all that as being too useful- but then again, you…

Try using The Art Department to render some stuff in 8 colors – you will be astounded. Seriously. If you have ANY interest in graphics at all, you really NEED this program. With the ability it has to render images into a fixed palette, using 1 of 8 kinds of…

Ummm, no the CG fonts is short for the Compu-Graphic fonts. They are copyrighted property of AGFA Compugraphic, Inc. They are actually an outline description (like the PostScript fonts.) The GD package includes a converter that MAKES a postscript font, or an Amiga font on the fly. Note that a…

The .metric files are used by the editor itself, so it can determine the size of various characters, and thereby justify the text output in a reasonable manner. The files you would need are the actual font definitions. I don't have Excellence, so I don't know how they are packaged.…

Ron: It actually works pretty much like it seems it would have to. Your noprint is undoubtedly because post can't find the font you used. The default font is a NULL font – doesn't print anything. (See init.ps) If you are going to play with this you will NEED a…

Ummm, they haven't been run thru a LaserWriter or the like, at least by me. However, the change I describe should do nothing, according to my understanding of the font file & Adobe's red book. When I make a null change, but it fixes a problem, I usually call that…

Just got the CompuGraphic fonts from Gold Disk. Neat deal, you can make any Amiga type font you need, or you can have them translated to PostScript. Alas, the PostScript fonts don't work in PixelScript. The resulting files give every letter, but the space character is a solid black block.…

what you want is a product call Print and Wear. I used to buy it from a local dealer, but they stopped carrying it. However, Creative Computer over in CA carries it (mail order). Print & Wear is a special paper that seems to be coated with a pine-pitch derivative…
