Terry, my understanding is that the Millenium does support texture mapping, but not perspective-corrected. Loyd Case
Conner 1.3 GB for sale
Message #12568
I have a Conner 1.3 GB SCSI driver for sale; access time is 12 MS. Model number CP 31370. It has about 1500 – 2000 hours on it, and is about 14 months old. Make me an offer. Best regards, Loyd Case
>> But if you've got a little while, download the file LW_vs_IM.txt. It's about four pages and it's what I've experienced with the two programs and the two companies that made them.

Is there any way to get the Release 4 patch? My dealer is singularly uncooperative, unless I buy something from him. Loyd Case -Loyd Case

3DS to Quicktime 2.0
Message #145070
This is easy. You buy deBabelizer 1.6 from Equilibrium (or your Mac dealer.) It converts .FLC files to Quicktime and a host of other formats. It will also take sequential Targa files and create a Quicktime movie. You can even do some postprocessing with Photoshop filters. Loyd Case P.S. Equilibrium…
The Stealth 64 will do 24-bit color up to 1152×864 resolution. I don't have a benchmark, but both 3DS and Winsows seem pretty snappy. Loyd
I recently ran Winbench 4.0 on a variety of cards. In 8-bit color, the Stealth 64 outpaced the competition, including ATI, Diamond's own Viper Pro and the Matrox Impression Plus. It was 20% faster than the nearest card. Loyd Case
I'm using the Stealth 64 PCI w/4MB. In Windows, using the 2.20 drivers, things work without a hitch, even in 24-bit mode. However, I have one (minor) problem in 3D Studio (r4). In the materials editor, the text in the bottom half of the screen is fuzzy, as if the…
The new Matrox board, the Impressions Plus, is very nice. Has 3D gouraud shading and hidden line removal built into the hardware. It can be expanded to 4 MB of RAM. I'm not sure about drivers for 3DS, though. It's Windows performance is quite good, its DOS performance (for s/w…
64-bit card for sale
Message #137204
For Sale: Number Nine GXE 64 Pro (PCI) for sale. This card is based on the S3 Vision964 chip. It has 2 MB of VRAM and is expandable to 4 MB. Send private email if interested. Loyd Case
I have to agree with your observation about everyday use, although maybe not like word processors; someone's gotta shoot the video… But it will be like the DTP revolution, and people who want to make videos and movies with great effects will be able to do it cheaply. You gotta…
Thanks for the info. At one time (an earlier rev), the list price for the Mac version was $795. As ever, Loyd
The list price is something like $800, but you can often find great deals, and it's also bundled with many video capture cards. Interestingly, you can sometimes find the Windows version a LOT cheaper (< $350) than the Mac version. Loyd Case
The "standard" Stealth 64 uses VRAM. The DRAM version, which uses the 864 chip, is called the "Stealth 64 DRAM". Loyd Case
I'm not sure about Visual Reality, but a great tool for that kind of work is Adobe Premiere, either the Mac or Windows version. It loads .FLC, .AVI and Quicktime files, and I believe it will load a sequential series of bitmapped files as well (not sure what format, though.)…
TOPAS 5.1 for sale
Message #415
I have a copy of TOPAS 5.1 (well, it's 5.0 with the 5.1 upgrade disks), and all docs, for sale. $450.00 Note that this is TOPAS, not TOPAS Pro. It can output high res single images (TGA or others) or 8-bit .FLC animations for multimedia. If you're interested, send me…
Ray Dream Designer is a 3D modeling and rendering package whose claim to fame is that it is VERY easy to use, yet full featured. It does do ray tracing, and is usually priced at under $300. It does NOT do animation, and is really positioned more for users who…

#Imagine L/T
Message #997
What are the differences between L/T and Imagine Pro? Also, what animation features are included in Imagine L/T? When is L/T shipping? Loyd Case
Battletech will be in syndication. You can call FASA up in Chicago and get a list of stations around the country. I saw some clips at a recent convention; pretty awesome stuff. Cheers, Loyd
The upcoming Battletech cartoon show (starting Sept. 24th) will also feature computer animation, particularly of the battlemechs. Loyd Case
