#196868 Matrox Millennium 4m? Message #197274
Mark, >>I think the video question comes from the 16 bit buffer (65K colors). That mode offers the highest video performance for the card.
Mark, From all the reviews I've read, graphic performance is good, but video interpolation on this card stinks! It's one of the slowest rated video-wise. May be partly due to WRAM rather than VRAM. Also, the 3D exceleration isn't compatible with 3DS (according to Matrox). What's your opinion? Scott
Might be a bit too complex for a 13 year old, IMHO (or am I just projecting). 😎 Scott Lawrence

Wouldn't that be nice! Sorry. Scott Lawrence
#195209 Law on Music Message #195309
Raymond, You have to license music (or risk a law suit)! Buy-out stock music is an option (although it's usually generic-sounding shlock—some better than others). Scott btw, I'm a music producer, in case you're interested in an original score!
Hi Kevin, I ran into the same problem. Pentium Overdrive is not universally compatible, regardless of ZIF socket! Scott
Mike, >> If you have a ZIFF socket it will work. Meaning another row of pin slots surrounding your C.P.U

#183825 Adesk Siggraph Party? Message #183871
Thanks for the info., Robert. If I had known that the party was an all nighter, I would have dropped by. I was at the Convention Center until 11 P.M. & thought the party would have been wrapped-up by the time I got over there. How late did it go?…
Robert, Thanks for the info! Were invitations sent out, or will they be available at the Autodesk booth? Scott
#Adesk Siggraph Party? Message #183788
I'm trying to find out when & where the Autodesk Siggraph Party is being held. I'm aware of the Forum party tonight, but I never received info about Autodesk's own party. There is going to be an Autodesk Bash this week, isn't there? Thanks for the info! Scott
Thanks, Kevin! I'll check into it. Scott
Does anybody know who is responsible for Chevron's new "talking car" spot? It's great! -Scott
#175276 Zipdrives? Message #175374
I have a Zip & a Bernoulli 230. The Bernoulli is noticably faster, higher capacity, service bureaus have 'em & I prefer it (esp. for playback). Scott

#171604 #Snapper Message #171709
It's called Snappy, not to be confused with Snapper, which is a type of fish. I have one. $199 @ Egghead, etc. What else do you want to know? Contact: Play Inc. (800)306-PLAY (the Toaster guys)
I believe Greg Pyros is involved with UCLA in pre-Siggraph, crash 3DS courses! Perhaps that is what he was referring to.

Ang, Yes I have one & it's alot of fun. Of course, frame grabs from motion video are a problem quality wise, but otherwise I like it. I believe it was designed by the ex-Toaster Guys! -Scott

Sure thing, Doug! Just got word that the SuperMicro Pipelined Pentium Mobo should be available in a couple weeks. I have one on order + EDO Ram. Blows away the competition!. -Scott

Theo, Are you interested in doing interactive training (CBT) or entertainment oriented programming? Authorware 3.0 is incredible (and relatively easy to learn compared to Director) for CBT (Icon Author is also excellent), but Director is THE industry standard for creative interactive titles and responsible for nearly 70% of all titles…
Doug, FYI… SuperMicro has a new pipelined triton coming out next month that'll blow away the ASUS. You might want to check it out before buying the ASUS. -Scott

Thanks, Greg! So there's really no way a dealer can justify charging additional for the chip when buying the board now, right? Has a price been announced for Perception yet?
Glen, Just keep in mind that the P6 won't fit in the P100 mobo socket! Different size & pin config. -Scott

David… Annie Hall, ah yes! Thank you, thank you. That's been driving me nuts. Speaking of Woody Allen & Clockwork Orange, could you imagine Woody playing Malcolm's role in Clockwork? #163094 Micropolis PAR Drives Message #163215
Ian, I've seen both Micro's advertised lately for way below what they were selling for just 3-4 months ago. You can even find the 2217a for about $650-$700! Micropolis is going to continue to support them. And the Conner is available & recommended by DPS tech support. -Scott
Glen, I'd suggest a Pentium 120 with Triton Chipset, pipelined cache, and EDO RAM (when available in larger than 4 mg chips). You'd have yourself a monster of a machine! Or, even better, if you can hold and (not to mention shell out) for the P6 (chip should sell initially…
