I do videos only as a hobby. I want to edit Hi-8 video and get near-Hi-8 output. After a few weeks of reading messages in this forum, I have concluded that it would take too much money ($20,000 for FAST Video Machine or equiv. plus $10,000 for a new computer…
A tip: Writers in New Media magazine (Nov 94) suggest that you capture the video in one pass and audio in another, and then sync. You save 150kbs going to the hard disk, which might help improve the quality of the captured video.
