What kind of hardware are you using? You know, motherboard, CPU, video card, etc. Also, copies of your autoexec.bat and config.sys files would be helpful. I had a similar problem with Imagine back in my "early days" (8 or 9 months ago) that Impulse also thought was due to my…

GreG– Apology accepted. Perhaps, in my note, I was not as clear as I might have been. And I did, admittedly, make a couple of errors, which you were right to correct. I was simply putting my two cents in, as everyone has the right to do. Many Imagine users…

Greg– I think you missed the point of my note. Mike H. said that in the past many people complained about Imagine without citing anything specific that needed changing, and that Impulse was open to any suggestions as to ways to improve the program. Dutifully, I sat down and tried…

Mike, Since you are looking for specific ideas for improving Imagine, here are a few I done gone and thunk up. These are in no particular order: 1-Include more info with the PC version on configuring memory. I see posts all the time on Compuserve and Prodigy about how somebody…

Yeah, no kidding. I have a 1 Gig HD but only 8 meg of memory, and I run into memory problems rendering all the time! Do I really need to invest another $350 in hardware (another 8 meg 'o memory) ? Hope not! Virtual memory would be a godsend! Bernie

Hey Mike– I think I figured it out. The two times my computer crashed I had loaded my objects, scaled the space ship object way down, and then adjusted the view in the perspective window…apparently, Imagine doesn't like complex objects to be scaled down too much. I tried doing it…

Does anyone know if there are (or will be in the near future) third-party textures available for the PC version of Imagine? For instance, are the Essence textures available in a PC-compatible format? Anybody know? Thanks! Bernie

If Imagine freaks when objects get really big or really small then my problem could be due to either one–my spaceship object, which is really detailed (lots of points and faces) was a little too big for my tastes so I scaled it down some…maybe a little too much. I…

Hey, guys! Before I start my usual cycle of bitch, moan and complain, I wanted to tell you what an awesome program Imagine is–the more I use it, the more amazed I become! I love it so much I've been recommending it on other online services. Never thought I'd become…

Sorry about the fax thing…I kept getting an error message so I kept trying to re-fax. Anyway…I realize the .FLC format is limited in color output, but what about the Imagine format? What I really want is a way to test animations before exporting the rendered frames to another (video…

I'm having the same sort of problem. It seems that if you use the "use truecolor" option in the project editor then your renderings will be DISPLAYED in 24 bit color, as well as correct screen resolution. However, I can't for the life of me get any of my movies…

I'm having the same problem with fog objects–I render them and all I get is a blank screen. Anyone know what the problem is?

And another thing…what's with these VESA settings in the preferences editor? Am I supposed to enter in some sort of information pertaining to my video setup? Does this tie in with the Show Available SVGA Modes menu? And would this have anything at all to do with my previously mentioned…

I just got 3.0 (PC version) in the mail and I'm having some problems with it. The problem I had with 2.9 was that every time I tried to make a non-looping movie and play it back it would play back and then my computer would lock up. I could…
