Jake: Does your software support anti-aliasing for any of the super VGA cards/ Ralph Grabowski said that DLD-386 Deluxe did anti-aliasing on the VMI DesignMaster VGA. I have a client with a SpeedStar HiColor with a similar chipset. Thanks for your help. Lansing Pugh Authorized AutoCAD Dealer / Austin, Texas

Your article in January's Cadence, on page 76, said that Panacea's DLD 386 Deluxe supported anti-aliasing. Are you sure? A client of mine that has the Diamond Speedstar Hi-Color wants to know if that would work on his similarly chip-equipped card. Thanks for any help you might provide. Lansing Pugh…

Joe: I'm not sure what is the cause of your continuing problems installing Disk 5, the Sample/Bonus disk. One idea: on this disk there are many, many, small files. A malfunction in the disk cacheing >might< cause problems here that don't show up otherwise. I'd disable all caches and give…

No, I haven't run AutoCAD on the Quadra. I suspect it is somewhat similar to running it on the Radius Rocket 68040 I have in my Mac IIx, which yields reasonable performance in some categories, slow in others.

Joshua: Your best investment on an AutoCAD accelerator for the Macintosh would be a clone 483-33 sitting next to your Mac. After that, I would suggest that you get the Mac with the fastest clock speed (like a Quadra 700) to lower the regen times. A Radius QuickCAD will fix…
