Jonas I am not sure how to forward this wish list item, but since you replied to the only other message in the topic area, you get it. When I was at SIGGRAPH this summer, and being wowed by MAX, there was one area that I thought still needed a…

Terry >>It stands for Reliable Software Solutions, Inc. Should have read this e-mail first before I replied to your other message. Am still looking for a PVR & daughter card. Phil Aro

#189400 #Multiple Monitors Message #189488
From: Philip Aro Autodesk Multimedia Forum · Hware/OpSys/video September 6, 1995 10:24 PM
Alan I can think of a single, really good reason for multiple monitors. That is seeing your 3DS output on an NTSC (T.V.) monitor (and not having to suffer through running your computer program on it, even for a little while). If you go to an editing suite and use…

Chris I agree with Claus (Msg #287). Wait till "Max" comes out, and get your best-deal system then. Your current 486 is ok for learning 3DS "Classic" and even scraping by with NT 3.51 ( Back up your system, make a NTFS partition, run Photoshop under NT on it, and…

Terry What does "RSS" stand for? Do you do your own hardware ratings? (Hard to trust the manufacturers numbers, long wait for the magazines). Phil Aro

Terry No, I don't have mine. It is frustrating, to say the least. The vendor I am going through (Anti-Gravity, in Los Angeles), has a mantra that goes something like "it will be in in 2 weeks." But today I got a sales person there to admit they just don't…

Martin I'd like to add my two-cents-worth but my PVR and capture card have been on back order for over a month. Either a lot of people are buying these contraptions or D.P.S. Inc is having some a whole lot of manufacturing hang ups. Phil
Martin I am interested in buying a mulit-processor Alpha system too, for the same use (render server for Max). But the DEC 4 banger seems a little un-economic. At that point, why not just get the Onyx running Softimage? Plus- 1 gb RAM? Why not 48 (or 64) X 4?…

#IPAS pricing/returns Message #131066
To Users, General The complaints posted in recent sessions regarding IPAS pricing, makes me wonderif the economics of delivering better price/performance than the SGI or Mac in the 3-D animation\illustration marketis not relevant where buyers are more concerned with the image of high-end quality than really getting their money's worth.…
SGI renderer status Message #123005
From: Philip Aro Autodesk Multimedia Forum · Autodesk 3D Studio September 9, 1994 11:03 AM
Is there any announcement or information available regarding the SGI based rendering module? I attended a meeting at Autodesk this Spring where the renderer was described. The approximate date was end of summer -for announcement or release I can't remember. I could really use that thing just about now. Regards…
