Geoff, To the best of my knowledge it's the 3.5 driver that has the units backwards and the 3.51 driver corrects this. Donna
Ken, >I have numerous documents (PageMaker, etc.) that use the >trademarked-named fonts, use Eras for example. Now, -I- know that >Corel's "Erie" is the same thing, but will PageMaker, et.al.? You probably already read Bob's message which mentioned about using Font Alias/Font Substitution in ATM.INI and WIN.INI. This seems like…
Thanks for that info Sandy. Donna
Chris, I don't have those details yet (I haven't seen this in action yet since we *just* got the developer's kit). I'll post info as I get it and will keep everyone posted. Donna
Mark, >I wonder if Corel is thinking of coming up with a better export >format or working with vendors for direct support of Draw format. I'll pass the suggestion along. >So for now, there is no really good option in the non-postscript >world for exporting Corel?… I've always felt that…
Mike, Glad to hear it worked out. Donna
Dave, >1)If I can use the Type 1 fonts rather than the TrueType fonts, does >this mean that ATM will now work with Corel? Including text objects >that have been distorted beyond sanity with Corel's wonderful tools? Yes. >2.a) Will I now be able to put the Corel Type 1s…
Steve, >And of course, since the missing FontBBox info from the driver's >TrueType Type1s drives a lot of clone printers nuts, they'll have the >same problem with or without Corel. >You might want to make the Fontz aware of that I believe he already is aware of it. Thanks. Donna
Ken, I spoke to our "font expert" about your question (because things aren't as simple as they used to be :-)). Here's what he had to say: "There are three scenarios to consider here: 1- The customer is using WFNs (custom, converted, or Corel) 2- The customer is using True…

Steve, I spoke to our "font expert" and here's what he had to say: The FontBBox is normally referenced by an Adobe font and is usually used when downloading the ps font to the printer. We don't download ps fonts, we send info either as curves or as bitmaps. And,…

#Kodak Photo CD
Message #857
Dave, Some new info re: Kodak Photo CD. I've been told by our Product Manager that we've just received the developer's kit from Kodak and will soon be able to work with their images. Donna
Ken, I'm looking into this. Will let you know. Donna
Bernie, Upgrading to 2.01L will take care of it. Contact our Customer Service dep't at 613-728-8200 (it's a free upgrade to registered users). Donna
Mike, Since you're using CD 1.2 with Windows 3.1, it's hard for me to say whether CorelDRAW and its modules will be able to function properly in that environment. As you know, CD 1.2 was created long before Win 3.1 came out. However, on the surface, it appears that you…
Mark, >What is the best way to get CorelDRAW graphics printing to a Windows >printer using TrueType in Word and (maybe w/3.0 Corel) TrueType in >the Corel Graphic with the same quality that one would get from an >EPS graphic export? You can't really get the quality of the EPS…
>A couple of questions remain, though. How can I tell what version of >WFNBOSS I've got? Go to Options and About. You should have 2.01s. >I'm using Windows 3.0 — does that mean I can't use the latest >version of WFNBOSS (2.01T)? It just means that you don't *have* to…
You're welcome :-). Donna
Dave, You also need to get the 2.01L upgrade – is it possible that the person you spoke to was going to arrange for this to be sent to you? If not, just contact our Customer Service dep't at 613-728-8200 to get it. Once you have the 2.01L upgrade installed,…
Mark, I may have a possible answer for your problem with the EPS file. I have W4W 2.0A and today I imported an EPS file (from CD 2.01L) into W4W. When it printed to my PS printer it looked like the bitmap header had printed and not the actual EPS…

>Perhaps the situation is different under 3.0. If TrueType (or some >other format is used instead of .WFN, keeping the fonts all in the >same directory may not be needed. Any thoughts on that, Donna/Corel? Well, since in CD 3.0 we're now using TrueType fonts, you can tell Windows where…
Corel V1.21 with Win 3.1
Message #798
Wandal, Sorry Wandal, I don't have a workaround for you. The only thing I can think of is that, if you have sufficient HD space, you reinstall Windows 3.0 in another directory and use it with CD 1.21. Donna

There are six Section Leaders for five Sections (Paul and I share duties in the CD 3.X and CD 2.x sections) and one Sysop and a few unofficial people around. Donna
