Yes Don that is correct. The Orchid Turbo 286 board will work with the Bridgeboard with a better than AT performance. I've been using it with a Flashcard-49 hard disk (28 ms) for all of my IBM related work and havn't had any problems yet. B.T.W. are you doing any…

Color Printer

I need to get in contact with someone that has the Tektronix TEK 4693D color image printer attached to their Amiga. Would like to have my pictures printed on the printer. I will pay for the service and materials.

There is also a command in DOS that you need to enter for the type of screen that you are using. If you boot the bridgeboard in mono mode then once you are in DOS type MODE CO80 and then go to the workbench and run the IBM Color Icon.…

Setting up your Amiga with VT100 via the serial port is just as easy as you originally thought. In fact most of the public domain telecomm programs will support VT100. As far as the fax problem, you would have to have a card that would convert the fax signals for…

Yes I have been able to load both the mono and CGA mode on the bridgboard. You can not display both at the same time but for example you can be running Lotus 1-2-3 in mono mode, generate a graph and look at it in CGA mode and then flip…

I just thought I would bring it up. I use Tapcis and was a little disappointed to mark all the headers and find a discussion on something else. Thanks.

Wouldn't be able to reply even if I knew something. But I do like to watch and see if you guys can make any progress with the forms. I'm not in development anyway. I work in a MIS department and do development on internal applications. (Local Area Networks, Email, dBase…

Gee I am disappointed. I see 20 messages with the header of Ashton Letter only to find that the topic is INK! Come on folks. Be sure to change the subject header if the topic is going to change. (Just thought I would throw in a few cents…)

Nice shot! Politics. Having come from the entertainment industry before working for Ashton-Tate has taught me a lot about playing corporate politics. I usually try not to be a political player but in a corporate environment it is sometimes necessary. I'd be much happier at my Ami at 2:00 in…
Vague rumors are good! Almost borderline but ok. I suppose you saw the rumor in Amazing Computing about a BBSer from Ashton-Tate visiting the local BBS's. Must've been me. Also notice that they spelled my name wrong in the AmigaWorld article for April. According to them my name is Tim…
Glad you enjoyed my comment. Or was that a non-comment? Read what you want into it and cross your fingers. It's kinda 50/50 right now. (Don't quote me!)
I had a lot of problems with the Intel 386 board with the bridgeboard. I will be receiving a turbo 286 soon though and will be testing that one out. I let ya all know how it works.

I really enjoy the Transactor. AmigaWorld seems to want non-expressive articles although good. Not to say that it is bad but some authors like to be more liberal with how they are getting a point across. Transactor seems to allow that. I still plan on writing for AmigaWorld but would…

I've had some 386 cards that didn't work. The Intel 386 wont work. Just won't come up.

I've been doing testing of the Bridgeboard for Commodore and I can confirm that 95% of the boards that will go into an IBM XT will also fit into the A2000 and work. So far I have attached to an ethernet network, a Sysgen Tape drive, a Microsoft bus mouse,…

Read your article in Transactor. Not bad. How long have you been writing? I just started writing for AmigaWorld. 1st article in April on the bridgeboard and using a virtual drive.

Thanks. She seems to be a hard one to get ahold of. (Julie) I just barely missed her at Comdex and at the AmiExpo. Oh well maybe next time. Are there any more of your people that have access to Compuserve for email?

Thanks for the reply. If you would like I could send you a copy of the tests. Or you could check with Julie. I've always had a hard time getting ahold of her to find out if I was submitting what she needed.

Greetings AI spoke with you sometime last year about some problems with the bridgeboard. I'm the one that is doing product testing on the bridgeboard for Julie Bauer. I ran into some problems with the virtual disk software when it was being used with the file transfer software (Awrite, Aread).…

I've been using Intro-CAD and like it quite well. My only complaint is that thegrid won't shrink down enough for some real fine detail. Other than that it is a great product.
