Laser seems right to me, too. But I'm not sure the quality is MUCH higher than hi-8. certainly more durable though. Broadcast quality laser recoders are very expensive in comparison.

Thanks for the help. I ended up removing all hardware, adjusted switch settings, changed interrupts and Base mem. settings for all cards, reinstalled software, changed swap disk to C: and hey, guess what? Everything is working. Well it took about forty hours but who cares. Time to get some sleep……
