Mark, Most of the texture map packages tile with no seems. ImageCELS are one that comes to mind. I would suggest holding off buying one of these until you get a CD-ROM drive and get to check out what 3DSR2 comes with. You may find enough to satisfy you. Jay
Jim, Why do you recomend not getting a LANtastic starter kit and getting NE-2000 clone boards instead? Are you refering to the 2mbps starter kit? Did you know that LANtastic also comes in a 10mbps Ethernet starter kit that includes NE-2000 compatable boards? Jay

I was just kidding, I didn't really think you wrote drivers with Quick C. I hack in Borland C++, program with Quick Basic and Visual Basic, and have turbo Pascal for Windows but never used it. Oh well… Oh yeah, don't forget AutoLisp! Jay
What if he sets up the EMS memory as one big disk cache. 3DS should see it as being used and go to Extended, after the extended is full, 3DS will page to disk but use the cache. Not the best, but an improvment. Jay
Maybe for R3 you can ditch the dongle and go with CD-ROM. Like you said, it'll be great when everybody has them. Sure would make beta testing expensive though, pressing a bunch of CDs for every release…. Jay

Matt, As far as CADMagic goes, you can't just xload it, you have to (load"cadmagic"). This loads a .lsp program that takes care of the interface. Jay

You should take a look at AutoFlix over in the ACAD forum. It works at EGA 16 color resolution and offers some interactive capabilities. Just "BRO KEY:AutoFlix LIB:ALL" over in the ACAD forum.

Jim, I don't think the windows player is public domain. But, the AApro player, AAplayhi, is public domain and will play regular AA flics. I just tried running it on the Targa+ and it works great. Also, getting the windows player to work on another card besides a VGA card…
Jim, there is a AAPro driver for the Targa+ in DL-9. If you have AAPro, problem solved. If not, there is a public domain player available, but I'm not sure if it uses the same drivers or not, matbe someone else can chime in. Jay
