This is my third year doing this – I assist the CIS Crafts Forum here as their 'graphics support'. Somewhere around September, the Crafts Forum announces the swap and we post guidelines for mailing etc. To date, I've gotten fiber items – weaving, tatting, crochet, knitting etc., some polymer clay…

Sounds like a good deal and I'd take it. How much mileage does it have on it ?

This is the last thing I can think of. Are you sure you are using ImagineFP not regular Imagine ? Like I said my version of Gigamem is older and the requestor to in Gigamem Prefs to select the program to use isn't very informative once you've selected it. It…

Try to get better lighting. If you can borrow some lights you will be surprised at the difference. Cropping out the background is not the same as having little or no background. I mean, if you can do it, you should eliminate the copy stand photo grey or the white…

I'm not sure if they are but you can BROWSE the library in AmigaTech for VIRTUAL MEMORY and see what you get. My 500 has MMU with a 3rd party accelerator – Gigamam works fine for me.

I forgot if you've said that you have MMU.

Just for fun … I've noticed there are a few PD (?) and shareware virtual memory utilities in the Amigatech library. Why don't you give one of them a download and see if you can get it going ?

This is so bizarre ! You should be able to get this going. Are you an Internet subscriber for Imagine ? I'd ask there and I'd ask a bunch of times. There is no reason I can figure that it would not work for you. Are you creating the partition…

I'm not sure what you mean by "camera lighting" – are you talking about camera floodlights for still photography ? That would be very good light indeed. There are fancy copy stands one can buy that accommodate four bulbs. Maybe you could mess around and get more lights even if…

This was a long time ago but I called the company that supports Gigamem in this country to ask about problems I was having with the product. (wish I could think of the company name – Innovatronics ?? ). Anyway, Imagemaster and DPaint ask for and use additional memory in…

ImageMaster will clean out those stray pixels for you. One thing I would suggest is that you experiment more with better lighting on the copy stand if you are using Digiview. They used to recommend fluorescent light but I never got good results with that. I use at least 2…

Hmm…, what does the Amiga Workbench report before you start any rendering – amount of Chip and Fast Ram. This is just a guess but it is acting like it isn't recognizing your entire swap file as the virtual Ram. How large is your partition ? Do you delete what…

I have a very old version of Gigamem (2.1) and I don't think I've tested it on Imagine 3.0. It did work with 2.9. Here is what I have in the Gigamem prefs: menu, I have an entire partition set up as 'SWAP' ( I think I have 40 megs…

Well, you can say that but my modem line is the main phone line. So if it takes an hour to upload, it takes an hour. Then there is no guarantee that the baud gremlins won't eat it before it all gets here.

"Labyrinth of Time" is a CD-Rom based game for MS-DOS and the Mac. I think I've seen ads for it in MacWorld etc. The article says it is also on the Amiga but having no CD rom or gaming interest, I never thought to investigate. Don't ask me how the…

I guess E.II has the Plasma – it has a lot of parameters so you can make it as bold or subtle as you choose. You know what would be neat ? – maybe using only part of the Humanoid face like a Mime mask but make it almost transparent.…

That sounds great. BTW, do you have Essence ? I think Plasma would look great there – especially if you could fade it out so that the base color of the face would show through. How about cutting off the Imagine cow's horns and make them into boar teeth ……

I've been with Imagine since it was TurboSilver. I've seen Lightwave up close and have played with it. Certain aspects of Lightwave make putting a scene together faster. OTOH, Imagine 3.0 has more stage control so this is less an issue. To tell you the truth, I think any of…

I would think that by 2003 – most edible fish stocks would be raised in farms possibly far inland using synthetic ocean salts etc. Fish raised in ocean environs are prey to parasites etc. and make for very irregular fish. I'd bet there would be large indoor tanks with lighting…

It doesn't cost anything to enter the contest. I wasn't so sure about sending my pictures on a Syquest and ever getting the cartridge returned. However, they have an animation entry and I don't know how you'd send that on disks. They welcome removable media. I just didn't want to…
