Martin – I have wondered about this and some other issues regarding ADesk's direction with all this animation stuff. If they can't make AAP 24-bit (and they *should* – it would only strengthen their market share in a fledgling, but growing market) then they should definitely buy somebody else's program and use that. Or create a totally new 2DStudio and forget AAP (except for a generous upgrade path for those of us who own it <g>). I feel, tho', like they will be relating to this like they have the driver issue. I mean, really, ADesk ought to license Vibrant drivers and bundle them with 3DS and AAP. Then you and I would download a LOT fewer messages from people wondering why their display is only using the top 1/4 of the screen and is overlapping their images in that portion, and the like. To continue on the general trend, my experience with Playmation over this weekend shows it to have many of the features of 3D Studio, though is less precise/professional/production in orientation, but is so user friendly, I'm actually better at drawing in 3d in 3D Studio as a result of drawing in 3D in Playmation. (By the way, exporting DXFs to 3DS works *perfectly*! The only oddity is that FRONT in Playmation is TOP in 3DS.) Over the course of the next couple of years, some of these 'upstart' companies could easily pass ADesk in a price/performance way, causing a loss of market share/control. UNLESS more listening to users is done. This is directed at the Autodesk people, rather than the Yost group, generally. I think Gary is quite open to *most* kinds of user feedback. Interface issues are semi-forbidden in Studio and, probably due to the source of those previously mentioned rumors, off-limits regarding AAP. I heard a report that, at a Chicago conference one of the ADesk management persons asked how they could improve AAP and got a spontaneous "Change the interface" from a BIG handful of the attendees. The response from him, I'm told, was something like, "No, really. How can we improve it?" He would not acknowledge the feedback. Well, I'm done complaining/lobbying, now. We can go back to work…. DT
