Rick,
I've tried in the past to work with the SS clock, but never had any success.
I just assumed that it couldn't be done, but since you've gotten it to work
I'll try again. Maybe my SS clock speed was too slow.
I don't understand your comment that you have a batch of MIDI tracks and one
or 2 Ami sound tracks. Do you mean that in DMCS you have Ami tracks and MIDI
tracks at the same time, or, do you mean that you have some MIDI tracks
already in Soundscape and then try to record tracks from DMCS by assigning
them to MIDI channels and recording in SS? To the best of my knowledge, the
only way from DMCS to SS is via MIDI channels. I have experienced problems
with DMCS and a SS module both trying to own the MIDI device at the same
time. In fact, DMCS seems to want to own SS's MIDI OUT and MIDI IN modules
whether or not you have them connected to the patch panel. I've tried to do a
hardware loop back, with DMCS going to MIDI OUT and SS recording MIDI IN, and
couldn't get it to work. I find that the safest method is to do nothing but
the transfer with DMCS and SS together, and then rebooting and going into SS
by itself for any further work. They seem to tolerate each other a little
bit, but not too much.
Any comments? David
