Isn't that because those machine are essentially used in mono-tasking? Logic
dictates that monotasking will be faster for a single task which shouldn't be
considered a bad thing.

I don't understand this one. Why is it then that PowerPoint is lousy and Scala
good?

Personally, I use TeX. I use the Amiga one and maybe the PC one too in a not
too distant future since my boss wants to use it instead of the MS-stuff. It
does everything I want it to do, so I don't really have a problem with that.
