These outputs are the same quality as transcoding S-VHS- composite thru an external TBC.< I'm aware of the composite outputs on S-VHS machines–but frankly, every time I've dubbed an S-VHS tape using the composite outlets to a composite VCR (3/4" or VHS), the results have been, well, unfortunate (color shifts all over creation, mushy image quality, etc.). OTOH, dubbing via a TBC or digital buffer has always given me good results… Anyway, that's always been my experience, Tim
