It differs from the 66 and 80 MHz PowerPros in that it exclusively uses the host Mac's system board memory. It also includes the 1 MB cache. I actually managed to succeed installing everything, but maybe installing the system on Power cpu and then re-installing it while on 68040 cpu doesn't get you the lightest system there is… What do you recommand as THE authorized way ? <<< You should select Custom Installation and install the system for any Macintosh. This method provides the system resources for booting as a PowerPC or 68040 Mac. All you need to add is the PowerPro CDEV (currently v1.2). Run a "clean installtion, ie-fresh system folder. Do this by pressing the COMMAND-SHIFT-K keys when in the initial installation window. This creates a fresh system folder. You will need to move your inits, extensions, prefs, fonts etc afterwards.
