The current specification on the GI satellite transceiver does allow for
limited interactivity. For example, the transceiver will receive scheduling
and program changes, interactive pay-per-view menuing, parental lockout, etc.
More sophisticated interactive functions like games and messaging will be in
next generation hardware and software. Right now, limited interactivity and a
low-cost box is what is needed to get a foot-in-the-door.
