Peter,
One thing that we all need to remember: 3DS MAX is *not finished.* What was
shown at SIGGRAPH was a pre-beta release, and Jack and Gary emphasized that
more features will be added to it (and they, and Autodesk, don't want to
confirm or deny all of those, for obvious competitive reasons). So, we probably
shouldn't be trying to read too much (or too little) into the screen shots that
Gary uploaded.
