John, please buy my tutorial videotape. It was designed specifically to orient users who are new to Turbo's way of doing things. The concepts are really not very different from Sculpt. It's just that you must go between the various input modes (point, edge, face) as you create an object. Applying attributes is simple: select the object with the attributes you wish to apply, hold down the shift key and multi-select the object(s) you wish to pass attributes onto. Select Apply and that's it! Make sure you are in object mode when you do this. For a group, go into object mode, select the parent and select the next object using the Next command or Rt. Amiga-N. Then proceed as I indicated above. Your group is turning green and moving because you are in Group mode. Remember to look at your title bar for information on you current editing status.
