ALERT Two New Graphics Forums Open ( from the What's New Menu ) (Nov-94) Two new graphics forums focusing on computer animation and graphics are now open. The Computer Animation Forum ( GO COANIM ) Offers workgroups and upload space for people interested in developing and working with animation, raytrace animation, morphing, high-tech demo, and motion-video applications. The forum includes support and software for popular animation formats such as FLI, FLC, FLX, GL, and DL, and motion-video formats such as AVI, MPEG, and QuickTime. The forum is also home to something called "The Demo Team", a group of amateur and professional computerists who create graphics demos. The Graphics User Group A Forum Hosts workshops and seminars and offers assistance for a variety of graphics paint, draw, and manipulation programs. Packages covered include Painter, Matisse, Tempra, Micro Frontier, trueSpace, Imagine, and Lightwave. Regular forum "challenges" will call on artists to use these programs to push their skills to the limit, showing which software is best for a certain task. This forum is the artistic complement to the Graphics Vendor A, B, and C Forums, where vendors offer formal technical support for their software. To access the Computer Animation Forum, GO COMANIM.
