Hi Michael: You're right that Simply 3D is a scaled down version of Visual Reality. On the rendering side, the Visual Reality version of Renderize Live supports Bump Mapping and Environmental Reflection Mapping for added photorealism, DXF import for broader model compatibility, and a feature to fix backfacing polygons. Renderize Live for Visual Reality also supports still frame or animation output to any resolution; Renderize Live EZ, in Simply 3D, limits still frame renderings to 640×480 and animations to 320×240. Visual Reality also includes two applications not included in Simply 3D. Visual Model is a full-featured polygonal modeler. Features include polygon and polyline tools, basic shapes, solids, boolean operations, extrusion, extrusion along a user-defined path, sweep, spiral, etc. Visual Model is an excellent for most modeling operations. Visual Reality also includes Visual Image a layered bitmap image editor. Visual Image's particular strength is the ability to keep each of your changes on a different "layer" over the original "background" image, such that you can delete or modify your changes as desired without losing anything. Visual Reality lists for $595.00. The upgrade from Simply 3D to Visual Reality costs $239. At $59, Simply 3D lets you get your feet wet in 3D without the risk. And with the inexpensive upgrade to Visual Reality, we've made the investment even safer. I hope this information helps. Best regards, Nick Josephs Visual Software
