<<Im having a problem getting LHA138.RUN to work. I've downloaded the file into RAM,extracted it, loaded just the LHA file into my 'C' directory with directory Opus. I then tried to download any LHA type of file, such as a 3D object for Lightwave. It doesn't work. What am I doing wrong? I'm using an Amiga 4000 with Termite software. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Exit>> To decompress your ###.lha files you need to type the following at the CLI prompt. LHA x sourceFile [DestPath] DestPath must end with either a ':' or a '/'. If your are doing this then something else must be wrong. I use it all the time, although I don't know what version I have. Gary, From your description, I believe you were successful in downloading LHA138.RUN, and also in unpacking it. And then you copied LHA to your c: directory successfully. Is that right? I'm not a Dopus user, but if you got the file copied to C: it should matter what method you used. Now, how are you trying to use LHA? Let's pretend that you were unpacking Autopilot – the Amiga navigator. Any other program would work the same way. If you had download it, it would be called AP.LHA. And here's how you would unpack it: First, copy your downloaded copy of AP.LHA to ram: Then, type: CD RAM: lha x ap.lha That's all you have to do. It unpacks the files, and then you can read the directory, find the text, doc, or readme files and they will tell you how to install and run the software. Have I guessed wrong about your problem? If this doesn't answer your question, please try me again and I'll use another approach. —Betty

It doesn't work.> Ok…you've downloaded the file, which is called Somethingorother.lha, right? Then what did you do? From DirOPus you can (depending on the version you're using) click and click (click on the LHA file and then click on the destination) or drag and drop and it should unpack the file for you. From a shell you can cd to where you have the LHA file and type: lha x filename.lha and it should unpack. If this doesn't do the trick for you, please ask again, giving more information.
