Dear Sysop or anyone who can help. I have two big problems that I can't solve and they are serious. The first problem is that any program involved with Math calculations such as a Metric Conversion program ect. do not work. Because of this I cheked my calculator in the Workbench and found that it dosen't work properly either. 2 x 2 = 4.0625 and 10 x 10 = 101.0054 and so on and so forth. Is a chip or some processor faulty or something ? What can I do? My second problem I have to explain to you because I don't even know what to call it. When I prepare a document on any Word processor, and set my page size to custom 8.5 x 11, It always prints out requiring 1 + 1/4 of an other page. In other words if I want the document to fit on a full page of 8.5 X 11 I must stop my letter at aproximately 9 inch in lenght on the Program side leger on the screen. This is happening with all programs including Paint Programs. Even a Fax that I receive Prints out on One and one Quarter of a page. I tried all kinds of settings in the Preffs of the Workbench and the Programs but I'm at my witts end. Is it maybe a setting on my printer that is not right ? I have a Star NX- 2420 printer. Can you please help ? Thank you Hopefully , Steve.

Without being able to go into detail (unfortunately) I have found that it seems to be a combination of which wordprocessor (yours sounds like WP at the moment) and the setting in it, possibly the Workbench settings and it sounds like you're tried these already. The problem seems to stem from what your system thinks it's sending to the printer and the fact that the printer is set to skip page breaks, if the print area sent is larger than the printer print area, the printer skips a margin and prints on. You may need to look at your printer settings. Sometimes changing fonts will do the trick as the WYSIWYGness of the wordprocessor may not be up to scratch. Try Topaz 11, this is a common printer font. regards, Lu on AutoPilot downunder
