Can anyone answer a simple question. How do you get a sphere representing a planet to rotate a sun? When I try to rotate the sphere on a radius from the center in the keyframer it just spins on its axis. How to I get it to rotate around the center sphere? Thanks

try linking it to a dummy object located at the sun.

Set the planet's pivot point to the centre of the sun using hierarchy/place pivot. This will allow you to touch the planet then place an "X", representing the pivot point of the planet, anywhere in 3d space. Or create a dummy object centered around the sun and do a hierarchy/link of the planet to the dummy.

In addition to the two solutions mentioned, you can create a circular or elliptical path in the 2D Shaper, and then assign that path to your orbiting planet. If your orbits can be seen from the Top view, you can use the Display/3D Display function in the Shaper to position your path before importing it in the Keyframer. If it's a different axis, send the circular shape into the 3D Lofter first, and then use 3D Display in the Lofter, and use Path/Rotate to set its angle before importing it to the Keyframer. (This is also the best method for assigning a rotational path to a camera or target.) – Jack
