GrabAnim wanted
Message #48502
I'm looking for a little PD program called GrabAnim that was out a few years ago. You could push a joystick button and send a DCTV screen to an ANIM5 file in a sequence. Anyone know where I can find it? LS
Thanks, I will try that.

Trading Objects
Message #48406
To Imagine an Lightwave Users, I am an object maker. I see something in the real word that catches my eye and I build it in Imagine. I have made spaceships and planes and battlemechs and etc, etc, etc. Are there any others here like me? If you are a…
Don't blame the creators for that. All the sleaze-ball marketting stuff comes from the *&^% at Godfrey and Associates in Canada. Those ()_*&*( sold pre-beta release stuff at NAB in 1994 at their booth while the developers were showing the release version… never mind – I could go on, but…
Real3D restock fee 🙁
Message #48197
Well, I decided to send Real3D back for a number of reasons, it's too bad because I like the potential of the product. Just a cautionary note, even though there is dongle protection on the software, there is a 10% 'restocking fee' ( about 75$ for me ) and even…
>I wanted to love it, but cant As a note of caution .. even though it is dongle protected, I am getting nailed for a 10% (approx 75$) 'restocking fee'. Not very professional IMHO, and makes me kinda glad I am getting out from under it.
>I wanted to love it, but cant I know just what you mean. Love it, hell, sometimes I can't even USE it! .mark
WTD:Cycle Muscles
Message #48184
I think what your looking for is called "Cycle Man by Tim Wilson of Crestline Products. I have the complete set that has walk and run cycles that works within Imagine 2.0 and 3.0. Good luck.
*** It looks like we will be dumping real 3d as soon as 3ds is out for nt and does some splineing (next version) — it looks like r3d will never get the support for rpl the ipas has and the industry is moving way too fast. *** Reading the…
RE: 3ds for nt/spline .. >Yeah, but that's what they told us last time, isn't it? < Heh. Look ate the specs for 3ds MAX… I for one am returning my real 3d anyway…. (sigh) .. I wanted to love it, but cant…. the advantages are great, the industry support…
> as soon as 3ds is out for nt and does some splineing (next version)< Yeah, but that's what they told us last time, isn't it? ..mark
********** ps – i see this thread has gone on the mention 3ds which does a lot of this with IPAS's, but what's the price of 3DS plus every IPAS you'd need to do what Real 3D does? Any idea? *********** It looks like we will be dumping real 3d…
models wanted (HELP)!
Message #48161
Hi folks, We are in real need of 3d studio (or real 3d but thats too much to hope for 🙁 ) 'manga' or superheroine type female models. The done need to be seemless , and the animation is limites so we done need articulated hands or feet, just shoulder/elbow,…
Nope… the wont go to splines 🙁 Once it is triangles you are dead.
I can export TO 3ds fine, unfortunatly, 3ds objects are non spline-able.
Are you saying that Real3D spline objects cannot be exported to DXF/3DS? I can do it on the PC version and it seems to work fairly well. ..mark
Hi, thanks for the input – i haven't seen the amiga version, but I think it is s'posed to be similar. here's a quick question. I'm trying to do an animation involving a series of collisions. to get the collisions to work more or less properly, I've had to turn…
Michael, the official area for Imagine support used to be the Impulse section in AmigaVend, but message flow has dried up. It seems like everyone is now in one of two places: – The Impulse section on AnVenA (PC Animation Vendors A) That's the official Impulse section. – The Imagine…
3D Rendering
Message #48143
All raytracers (Real 3d, LightWave) should get in touch with Zooropa BBS for sending your quality raytraced pictures which will be used (if choosen) in a new programm who will show the world that Raytracing on the Amiga is cool! For information : reply this message to get the number…
If you mean Import/Export helper (the tool they shipped me) then I can make real 3d objects no problem, but the are trimeshes and cannot be converted to splines that I see.
Chris, Doesn't the program RealConvert convert dxf files to a real objects. Then they can be converted to spline mesh types and if neccesary use triple end points/lines. Just a thought.
I'll second that… it seems to be the hidden gem of the 3d world. The problem is that for just that reason we may need to ignore it 🙁 While it is powerful, the numper of IPAS routines growing daily make 3ds look better and better. The only thing really…
Hi Mark, I use Real 3D daily and I am quite pleased with it. The interface is quirky at first, but that's because it is so flexible and customizable. I believe the programs's strongest point is its rendering output – absolutely gorgeous. The weakest point is its abilitly to use…
(followed the link here) I am looking for some support on this as well, any info appreciated!

Hi, I'm looking for users, lovers and haters of Real3D. Who uses it? What's good/bad about it. How do you get it to do its magic? Does anyone have any input? (Does anyone know any users of the PC version?) Thanks, .matk (oops – I mean 'mark')
Bill: I don't plan to take out any capability from VistaPro, so FireCracker24, DCTV and HAM-E will remain, though testing the last 2 will be tricky as VRLI didn't know what happened to their DCTV or HAM-E when they turned everything over to me. I still have a Firecracker 24…
Is the Firecracker 24 history after 3.0? The direct rendering is convenient.

Howdy out there Could somebody help my out, how do I create Clouds in Imagine 3.0? And how do I get my hands on Imagine 3.3 or higher. I haven't been home for a year and I am missing some information here. So if you know how to help please…
Jim: Currently First Light is only on the PC (Windows), and yes it's CD-ROM only. If I can keep Chaocity alive long enough, I plan to port it to the Amiga, though it will probably be a year before it is available (on the Amiga). I think that VRLI is…
Jim Thanks for the info on the book. I will try to track down a copy. Stew

Thomas, OK…I meant that there are bumpy textures not bump maps included with 2.9 plus (which produce the same kind of thing in a way) but that bumpy textures can be rendered AS bump maps by applying a texture to a plane and putting the camera above it looking straight…
Compute! books used to sell a volume called "Learning C Programming graphics on the Amiga & Atari ST". I don't know if you could still find it though, they're long gone, I believe. You might try some of the mail order places with dusty back rooms… The ISBN # is…
Barrie, >If your using Imagne 2.9 plus< I am using Imagine 3.0 and there were no Bump Maps included. And how can Imagine render in 24 bit if I don't have an graphic-card? Do you mean I can render 24 bit but not show it? Does that mean I could…

Hallo, Can anybody send me some Bump Maps for Imagine? Or tell me where I can find some? PEGASYS
Marty: Unfortunately, it's too close to release to add Cybervision support for 3.1, though I have it on the list now for 4.0. Clint
Clint, I hope that you will you be adding support for the Cybervision64 board in VP 3.1. Cheers, Marty ProActive Images Inc. "WE BECOME WHAT WE THINK ABOUT ALL DAY LONG" -RW Emerson
Dirk: I am doing a lot of work on the Screen Modes for VP 3.1. I have little documentation, so much of what I am doing is trial and error , but I am implementing the ASL screenmode requester as well as adding direct support for several of the 24…
This GeoForge sounds great. Must have it 🙂 An other Question: As I can read here that VistaPro will be further developed in the Amiga Version, is there a german dealer who sells upgrades? (Amiga Oberland?) And will new Versions of Vista Pro behave correctly under all useful screenmodes and…
Andrew: Current on the agenda for 3.1 is reflective water, DXF output, direct support of Opalvision, Picasso, Retina and EGS (though I am not yet certain that I will get all of those boards working properly in that timeframe) as well as an overall rendering speedup from porting from Manx…
Clint, Thanks for the info. Is the 3.1 upgrade a significant change from 3.05 to make the upgrade for me worthwhile or would you recommend waiting for v4.0. How would I go getting the upgrade when it ships. I did send in my registration card. Andrew Letchford, Plymouth, UK
Andrew: If you have an Amiga with AGA, normal emulation may allow VistaPro to work just fine, just without direct 24 bit rendering to the screen. (You could still save the images as IFF24 and then display with a program which supports your board directly.) Unfortunately, I am not only…
Clint, That is a pity for me as I am about to receive a Cybervision board. I guess my copy of VistaPro v3.05 is not going to work any more. Is there a workaround for this at all. Would a second monitor using the AGA chips on the Amiga video…
