sanford That would be great! We need somone for the November meeting. I'm convering World Builder this month, and a guy is coming in to do the Blob Modeller (shareware). I thinks it's actually one of the developers. Let me know "for sure" so I can lock it down, and…
Bob, Sure, I think I can make the meeting. There is a ton of stuff to talk about. How about metaballs modeling and animation with Organix? Sanford
sanford – some great ideas here. think i might steal one or two . how you been doin'? do you have some time to talk to my November 3D Studio User's Group meeting? Pick your topic. Third Saturday. (I'll bring the beer). send me a note (gee, it is easier…
#Script follow objects
Message #195423
Martin, I just bought The Script Extension. I have been looking for some scripts that show some ways to select and move a certain area of pixels, but so far I havn't found anything. I would like to use it to change the expressions on a texture mapped face. Is…
Thanks, i should have looked around a little first!

MPEG Script?
Message #193097
Hello, do anybody know an MPEG-Player with a script Feature ? I want to play diffrent MPEG's in a batch mode Thank you
Martin, thanks to you, Lee and James) for all your replies. I'll take a look at select.zip I actually have the beta manuals at home – I just haven't left work for several days .
Just a thought, Martin . . . You can check faces for their material. Provided the leaves use a unique material, it should be easy to write a script that traverses the list of faces, creates a separate list of leaf faces, then deletes leaf faces in a randomly distributed…
>> can one select/deselect faces with the PXP tse? I'd like to select 30% (then 70%) of the leaves in a Schreiber tree for deletion – maybe just go ahead and delete them without the selection. PXP sounds like the ticket for such a job. Can it do that?
I'll bring this to Dave Marks' attention as soon as he gets in this morning. Lee

Martin >>I just uploaded (last night) my vue2key.k3d script. Great! I'll take a look. Ian.
Continuation of last message #191640, I just uploaded the pseudo-code for converting camera roll/tilt/pan cameras to .vue file. The file: mov2vue.txt (I think) should appear in the libraries shortly (maybe tomorrow). Have fun!
Ian, I just uploaded (last night) my vue2key.k3d script. It's the part that converts camera data in the .vue file to keyframes – the easy part . I'm going to bug the senior programmer for some sample code or pseudo-code for the more complicated .mov to .vue process.
Ian, >> Thanks, I'll keep you up to date on the Kuper->3ds translation
Thats great Martin! Thanks, I'll keep you up to date on the Kuper->3ds translation. Ian.
Ian, well, we've cracked the problem. The programmer said he would write some pseudo-code for you and I'll let you have the script I wrote. In fact, I'll upload it. The pseudo-code should allow you or your favourite code warrior to write something in your/his/hers favourite language. you'll probably need…

Martin, >>What kinf of motion-control software do you use? Kuper. It can export position and rotation data as a ASCII format. Ian
OK. Thought that would be the general idea. Have to dig into the code. Under the category of questions I already know the answer too, but hope I'm wrong: Is there any way to tell in a sxp script what mapping slot the sxp is in? Particularly interested in having…

Hi Philippe, > Searching on #187638 should bring up Carlos' question. If you follow the thread from there, I give 2 answers. The first is #187664 and the other is #188570. jonas[adesk]
OK sorry, I finally found it by big search, not by reference number… Thanks
Thanks for your prompt reply, but the message you invoke (187638) has got no answer to this topic… aaaargh. Do you have any other reference ? Regards Philippe
Hi Philippe, > This has been recently discussed. Please check out msg #187638. jonas[adesk]
Key Splines
Message #190829
Hi, I'm PHilippe Chiwy, from de pinxi. I'm keyscripting, to be able to load animations in my own programs. I'd like to know if it's possible to get the MATHEMATICAL interpretation of the spline parameters in the keyfraler : Which kind of splines are they ? How to translate mathematically…

Martin, I'd be extremely interested in swapping information. It would be soooooo exciting to see a 3D character strolling around in moving live action scene (or vise versa.)! Ian.

Jonas, >> roll/pitch/yaw, matrices, quaternions and converting between the two. thanks for the info. I'll file that one. However, the senior programmer will probably nail it today. I'm going to see if we can make the information available.
Hi Martin, > Vince does a good job in "3D Computer Animation" Addison Wesley ISBN 0-201-62756-6 on pgs 195-203 where he investigates roll/pitch/yaw, matrices, quaternions and converting between the two. Yes, I tried "GetObject"ing the object. In fact that's where I started out. My problem was that the configure script passed right by that piece of code. That was when I started debugging to show the name of the object and its number of faces. While doing that, it occurred…
