[Reply to message #222629, which is no longer available] To reset your defaults, you need to write a small script in PJL and have your AUTOEXEC.BAT file copy it the the printer. Unfortunately, I don't have all of the PJL variable values but you should be able to get them…
Blank Page Printing Message #272798
From: Jim Woodman Forum: HP Peripherals Forum May 17, 1995 8:58 AM

Printer/Cable Error Message #272796
From: Barbara Forum: HP Peripherals Forum May 17, 1995 8:54 AM
I checked the version on my status monitor, it is v2.1. Apparently, there is still a problem in the later version. I sent a message to Annie Baxter telling her that my version still had the problems. Thanks for your suggestion, if I hear anything new, I'll let you know.

LAser 4MV & HPGL files Message #272789
From: Phil Harrison Forum: HP Peripherals Forum May 17, 1995 8:37 AM
I'm trying to print either IBM-GL or HPGL2 files to a HP LaserJet 4MV connected to the parellel port of a IBM RS6000 (a unix box) The printer prints the file as text! In my virtual print queue definition the printer is sent the following initialization string: %I[pU]%?%G_j%{2}%=%t%I[pL]%e%?%G_j%{1}%=%t%I[pR,pL]\33E%I[eP,c1,eT,eS,eO,ct,eF, s,et]\33&l%{480000}%Gwn%/%Pq%gq%{1 00}%/%d.%gq%{100}%m%2dC%;%0B;%;…
HP 5P Recall Confusion Message #272784
From: Stephen E. Kimmel Forum: HP Peripherals Forum May 17, 1995 8:17 AM
I have received confusing information about the HP 5P recall. A computer vendor told me that the recall was only for the 5MP, not the 5P. Is this true? I don't want the hassles of returning a printer. Thanks. -Steve
5P, 5MP difference Message #272783
From: Richard Cleaveland Forum: HP Peripherals Forum May 17, 1995 8:11 AM
I read the text file purporting to give a product comparison of the 4P, 4MP, 5P and 5MP but for the life of me I can't see that it shows any difference between the 5P and 5MP. What am I missing?
HPLJ 4 CPU connector Message #272782

I'm very well satisfied with my two-year use of my HP LJ4, but I have a (perhaps idiosyncratic) mechanical problem. The top spring fastener on the top pin connector on the printer (which connects the printer to the console) is apparently not strong enough to hold the connector tightly; the…

Nobody's reported a flicker with the 5P yet, but who knows until somebody does? At any rate, it's a result of the "green" electronics mandates the feds imposed and one that didn't work quite as well as it should have. You can reduce/eliminate the flicker in my experience in two…

Most people do not have this problem with the 2.1.2 driver that you're having, so it's certainly something in your own setup. Adobe is quite familiar with the driver and supports it in ADOBEAPPs here, and you might check and see if they have any ideas. I've had a few…

So is it that you only want to connect the LJ4P, not a JetDirect? I know of no drivers that are supplied by hp for OS9. You may have to check with the vendor of the operating system to see if they offer any solutions.
