Can you recommend a system ie recorder/software for making cd's for some software I have created. The most data would be about 500meg in pcx files exe files only 200K. Need easy system to create masters. Thanks larry

Panasonic has a new REWRITEABLE CD-R drive called the Power Drive 2. Theere is an external for about 850 and an internal for 775. Has anyone had any experience of this thing? Are discs written with this thing readable in all CD drives? Panasonic's number is 800-742-8086 .

Our tests with the Sony 920S have proved very successful. The 1 mb buffer is fine.
Might be problems with 74 min discs in the Mitsumi. I would verify on a Toshiba or Sony drive if possible.

Kathy… Yes I've had no problems with TDK, Sony, Ricoh, and generic brand cyanine disks but have had problems with Mitsui, Kodak and generic brand pthalocyanine disks. A firmware upgrade for the RCD1000 is supposed to take care of the "laser over-bruning" problem that caused the problem with Pthalocyanine disks.…
Fred, I guess it depends on how you define "can see through it" as the gold is thin enough you can see thru the gold (for eclipses and such). Then again, if there's a hole in the gold you're looking thru (ie clear plastic) then yes, the disc is bad.…
