Bud Hopkins is the fameous UFO abduction researcher of Communion fame. He wrote a book on Lost Time, somthing related to alien abduction. Just thought I'd go out on a limb, I've seen so many strange postings across the forum here lately just figured it was my turn. -Lee

Where are you located? Asoft night out sounds like trouble. The last time I tried that found Alan I., Wade S., Martin F., Tom R., Jeff R., Tim L., and many more howlin' at the moon but hey, COUNT ME IN. I haven't "lost time" since then. We could always…

Bob, For your information, Nick Lowe will be appearing at a small club called Toad's Place in New Haven, CT on January 25. For more info call 203-624-TOAD. Honest! Ticket prices are usually $8.50. BTW I happen to be a rockpile fan myself. -Lee
Jonas, Does this mean that when I am in true-color mode ( >256 ) that I can't see the swatch change color? Here we go again, several of my favorite IPAS routines require true-color. -Lee

Martin, I apologise, I was wrong about one thing. In the test where the object doesn't move, but morphs smaller the shadow does shrink appropriatly but the shadow still doesn't disappear as the material morphs to transparency. -Lee
From: LEE STEEL Autodesk Multimedia Forum · Autodesk 3D Studio January 6, 1995 12:10 PM
No comment on morph materials that still cast shadows from ray-traced spots? Try this. 1. Create a sphere. 2. Create a copy of the sphere (I used Shift/Move) to use as a morph object in the exact same location. 3. Direct one ray-traced spot at the ball. 4. Throw in…
Martin, Pardon me for jumping in late on this one but I have been doing a little experimenting here with morph materials. I set up a very simple scene with a ball that morphs from basketball size to ping-pong ball size. It casts a shadow on the wall via a…

PMFJI The only harmfull side affect of putting off your upgrade now is the increased learning curve later although if the new features are ones that you won't get much use out of then I'd have to agree, stick with what gets the job done for you. -Lee

You're absolutely correct Jeff. Unfortunatly I think Autodesk was faced with Siggraph and at the time probably felt that given the current state of the patch modeler (at that time) that it would pose no problem to have all the bugs worked out in time to meet the ship date.…

John, Watcom: No Debugging because of the lack of trap files required for each type of plug-in.
