I purchased the Novia_20i just about three months before the 40 and 82 mb versions came out (which the manufacturer assured me would not be available for at *least* the better part of a year – [freakin' liers]) and the only problems I've had with it is a read/write error…
Hmmmmm. I'll have to give that a try! Mucho thanks!
Yeah, Would you sell the 2.0 upgrade software separately? I'm interested in that, as I've already got FG.
Well, the main problem I had was knowing that I couldn't PRINT *anything*! This was what tipped me off about the 8520 being shot, as it happened once before to me. They replaced the chips, charged me an arm and a leg, and sent me on my way. I've since…
ATonce for A-500/A-2000
Message #54748
One last try… ** F O R S A L E ** ATonce – the PC emulator for the A-500/A-2000. Included: All original softwares, hardwares, manuals, boxes, packings, and best of all THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY CARD. Why?: I have board revision 6A, and it won't work on my system unless…
Well, the 8520 can't possibly be the problem. I've just replaced them both. It's been three days since it's acted up though, so it's possible that the last whack I gave it actually did some good.
I just tried your little suggestion. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I thought I'd *never* get that thing going again. I've had an Amiga for – oh…
I'll give it a try now – reboot and let y'know what does or doesn't happen. Any clues as to how to repair the keyboard problems?
I'd like to avoid hitting the shop if at all possible. The last time I had a problem with my computer, it was two burnt out 8520 (CIA) chips. I paid over $120 in repair costs, while the chips cost less than $30 total. The Agnus can cost $90, and…
Well, I just tried SETCLOCK RESET and it set the clock back to the old Oct 28, 1988 date. I then reset the time/date in Prefs and saved it. I then rebooted to find that it did NOT save the time/date, and I was BACK in 1988 again. According to…
Any idea where the program might be (or if it's here)? And how can I repair the keyboard problem myself?
Oh, and yes the keyboard is plugged in all the way.
Well, my 8520 chips WERE fried when hooking up my MIDI. The box said it could be used with 500/1000/2000 – but neglected to say that it was designed for the 1000 (y'know, with several of the pins reversed), and thus I fried my chips. The clock problem happened earlier,…
#Weird A-500 problems
Message #54577
I've got a few wierd problems. First, my battery backed up clock won't back up the time/date (and I've checked the battery and it's fully charged) Second, my keyboard keeps freezing up on me. (ie it'll lock up while I'm typing, or the CAPS LOCK light will either flash or…

This whole .GIF/.IFF thing brings up a good point. WHY the heck are there even .GIF files in the Amiga libs? Wouldn't it be more prudent to have them in something akin to the .iff formats instead? Seems like a major waste to just pop a .GIF there instead of…

#Speed of 68000 CPU Query
Message #53864
Question: What speed does the standard A500's 68000 CPU run at?
No, I haven't heard of the A592. Do tell!
Ahhh, there's the rub. I wouldn't even know where to start bidding for a MAC drive. All foreign to me.
How much for just the drive?
I'm having trouble viewing this. When I type "play entkli.anim" my screen turns black, then grey, and my mouse gets the ZZZZZZZZs balloon – and sits there. Does it take a loooong time to get it started (from RAM) or what?
If you get the IDE and HD package (or just get the IDE), you will be unable to use the ATonce IBM emulator. IDE sits in the 68000 chip slot, and the 68000 sits on top of that. ATonce sits in the 68000 chip slot, but has a new 68000…

Just thought I'd send this again in case you missed it the first time, or in case it didn't save the first time. FOR SALE ITEM: ATonce – internal hardware IBM emulator for the A-500. PACKAGE: ATonce hardware, software, original box, documents, and (here's the biggie) the warranty card. REASON:…

FOR SALE ITEM: ATonce – internal hardware IBM emulator for the A-500. PACKAGE: ATonce hardware, software, original box, documents, and (here's the biggie) the warranty card. REASON: For one thing, I have board rev 6A – the ONE version that won't work with ATonce without soldering (and I don't want…
What do I need in order to run this (i.e. memory and playback software)? It sounds…facinating.
#A-500 Clock is jammed!
Message #16061
My A-500 internal clock (located on my BaseBoard mem exp) is jammed! It still keeps perfect time, but it won't let me reset it! Oh, it'll keep the time once I go into prefs, but once I reboot, it resets to the time it had just prior to my change…
What is the difference between ATonce and IBeM? I'm having *major* problems with ATonce (like – it don't work) and want to know if an alternative will do the job.
atonce pc emulator
Message #13445
I just want to know ATonce and for all (sorry, coudn't resist) if it'll work in my system (WITH my ICD hard drive controller). At present – my system crashes when booting up the ATonce program.
Hmmmm, this sounds fishy. I got MINE from Montgomery Grant as well. I hope that it'll work with the ICD hard drive. At present, I can't get it to work. It just hangs when attempting to re-boot using the ATonce AmigaDOS disk.
I can't seem to get mine to work at all. I have the dreaded 6A board, and even with the solder connection of the resistor, it won't work properly. My first problem was that both ATonce and my ICD Novia_20i hard disk use the same connector point – the 68000…
#PowerPacker – WHERE?!
Message #17875
Well…I've tried using the Amiga File Finder, but there seems to be no record of PowerPacker being *anywhere* in the Amiga sections. It showed me programs that were compressed USING PowerPacker, but not the actual PowerPacker program itself. Just where the devil *is* the damned thing?!
If you get the new `packaged' A-500's, they include an RF modulator, and some free software to boot! Splunge Productions
#LZ and PowerPacker Query
Message #17511
Just what the heck is an Executor "hit"? PS Where can I find a copy of PowerPacker?
Steve, I know that it's not your fault, but the name of the actor in the image is Peter "Davison" – NOT "Davidson" (no second "D"). ~~~~~~~ If it's possible to correct this, please do. If you can't please give me the name & ID# of the uploader so that…
I've been thinking about Bodega Bay as well. Do you know if it will accept Video cards?
Thanks much Steve. I was so sure that I'd uploaded it, that when I noticed it was missing, I thought I was losing my mind!
Hey, Steve! What happened to OPERA2.LZH? I uploaded both OPERA1 and OPERA2 the same day, and both to DL1. OPERA3 & OPERA4 I uploaded the next day to DL6, as Lib 1 was full. Did it get lost in the shuffle, or is it gone forever?
Steve, the emulators for the other text editors (such as Scribble!) are NOT included in this archive. Were they supposed to be? This was really the only reason I download it in the first place. Are the emulators elsewhere in the Libraries or not?
What do you mean by `building an Amiga 2000'?
#GIF 87a / 89a Problems
Message #7378
Not long ago, I downloaded a GIF from the Graphics Corner forum. It was a 640X480X256 GIF and it was viewed with ease using HAMGIF. I attempted to convert it to Amiga format using HAMSHARP, as I have done in the past with all GIFs. This time however, it wouldn't…

#Good starter package?
Message #3392
The Amiga 500 is a great place to start. You start with 512K (which can be upgraded to more both internally and externally), an RF modulator (so you don't have to buy a monitor) and several software packages (including a wordprocessor). And you get all of this for UNDER $500.00!…
Contact Scotty and have him beam you aboard. (sorry, couldn't resist)
Tammy Faye Bakker?!?! Geez! She's hard enough to look at as it is! Who could stand the time to ray trace her face? Bleecchhh!
Yeah, but what does it do? 😉
Kevin, Since the sample is ))STEREO((, the left and right channels MUST run synchronous, otherwise the sample would have an echo delay effect, and sound like it was recorded in the bathroom! So, the left channel IS the left channel, the right channel IS the right channel – hence:stereo. With…
First off, I didn't grab it in SHAM, I grabbed it in IFF/HAM, GIFed it, then converted it to SHAM (as I don't know of any way to convert HAM to SHAM). Second, what's a HAM-E? Third, yep – I'm in the Corner quite a bit, though I don't upload…
Okay, I'll bite. What does *this* version of LZ do that the one uploaded about two months ago can't? Jeez, these LZ & Lharc uploads are becoming a real b**ch to keep track of! Becoming depressed about files compressed,
I've notice that if I convert a GIF to Amiga-HAM, the file size is dereased by a great deal! And if I GIF that file, the end result is almost *half* that of the original GIF file, with no loss in quality. Why is that?
