Evan, Did I miss something? I don't recall anything about spreading files across the network. Asleep at the keyboard again I guess. Dennis
Mario, Off the top of my pointy little head I would guess that your operator has REGENAUTO set to OFF. Which version of AutoCAD are you using? Dennis

Revis, I'm not a sysop, but I like to help when I can. Have you even attempted to install the program yet? Have you verified that the computer you intend to run the program on is capable? The registration part is easy, fill in the form. The installation shouldn't be…

Paul, Remind me to show you my scar some time, I didn't get to keep the guy's 32 caliber calling card. When you get in the way of something like that, its bound to change your attitude. Dennis

Nice guess Dennis
Craig, This irks me. I don't know of anybody on the Forum who might have the expertise to answer this one either. Anybody? Dennis
Mark, Do you get paid to *think* ? Dennis P.S. Wish I new somebody locally that has a Kurta.
Craig, Where's the AYA? Why can't a driver be written that will allow us to have our menu configuration intact after doing a CFG *AND* allow us to redefine the active area (screen pointing area) when we do a CAL, and sense which we want based on the F10 toggle?…
David, Bombs away! Actually there's a noogie waiting thats going to part not only your hair, but your scalp as well! There's only one perfect being in this universe, but I'm as perfect as humanly possible, just ask MY wife. Enjoy the holiday, Dennis
Craig, Email me the list, I'm at the top right? I like your method of locating plots, I use the offset to drop them on the paper, but shifting the border to accomplish the same thing works too. But which is the RIGHT way? Dennis (OMF)
Steven, Are you attempting to add characters to an existing font or are you looking for a way to use the existing `high' ascii charcters but find they aren't available? The U.S. version of AutoCAD does not provide the `high' ascii characters in their font (.SHP) files. Dennis
Pierre, Have you proposed this on paper? I know it has to be on the list but they tend to be quite formal about these things. If you could outline how you'd like to see it implemented it might start some wheels turning! Dennis
Jake, The life of a Panagroupie conflicts with the responsibilities of home. I can't follow you to every show just to enhance my wardrobe. Dennis P.S. Got any with a baby hurl resistant finish?
Dave, My mistake, drawings were wanted, not actual templates. Dennis
David, You want frozen ducks!? I've got a squadron of Kamikaze Mallards with your address waiting on the flight line. Don't rag on me man, you didn't stipulate the parameters of the problem clearly enough. Seriously, we don't use blocks with nested layers, and you know why. We don't have…
Tony, Hey, I'd appreciate a blow-by-blow. It's almost a foregone conclusion that it is the answer to our needs, but I'd like to hear about any warts you might find. Thanx, Dennis P.S. what's this about you, Robert and a benchmark?
Mike, Nevermind. Dennis
Peter, I wanted a much more powerful program that was limited to HP equipment at the time. We had been using PacSoft but really couldn't endure the teething problems they were having trying to tie everything together. Management wanted a DOS solution and DCA was the only obvious choice at…
Phil, Hey, I can relate to paying the freight. It's nice to know you're still learning. Dennis
Phil, You betcha, member in good standing two years now. You been to the meetings or did you just send them you money? Naaugies Rule, Dennis

Alan, I can second that vote of confidence in 10-CAD. Dennis
Scott, I'm still cleaning out the attic. I haven't had much time to play with the other capabilities of this board. I gotta kid now, ya know? Actually the CC has been on the back burner, otherwise you would have probobly received several phones calls from me by now. Hey,…
Brad, I don't think so. Like I said, a legit copy is worth every penny that was paid for it. If you get it for that much I'll be insanely jealous, it's worth almost 10 times that. Dennis P.S. These people gotta phone number?
Paul, Did you get a reply? My curiosity has been piqued. Dennis
Kans, (as in Kansmanian Devil) Don't make me get up outta this chair son, take a second to regain your composure and let the color drain back out of your face. I see your point(y little head) now. You need to jump into a block definition, grab the layer that…
Mike, Au Contraire, these were of the same laminated plastic material that the AutoCAD menus were. They were too professional to be in-house products. Besides, I was responsible for bringing DCA in-house so I know WE didn't make them. I just can't remember if they came shrink wrapped with the…
Alvin, I just left a message for a gentleman looking at a 4662. Was the 4663 being used with AutoCAD? More importantly, what cabling is being used on the plotter. The Tek plotter I played with only had an HPIB (Hewlett Packard Interface Buss) connector (called GPIB for General Purpose…
Scott, What are you selling here? Something I should be interested in? Dennis
Brad, Anything you want to buy is only worth what you're willing to pay for it. Make an insultingly low offer and dicker from there. They know what they paid for it and they should have an idea how much it's worth. Since copies of AutoCAD don't lose their value…
Jake, I don't know about that. My neon green eyesore has become a faded pastel imitation of its former radiance. I guess I'll just blame it on the way the wife does the laundry, maybe I'll buy her a softer rock. Dennis
David, Wouldn't changing everything from one layer to the other using SSX do the trick? Sometimes you are just too lazy. Dennis

Message #21678

Message #22295
Jamie What exactly does the ADESK logo on the cover of the AuotCAD reference manuals, and can I incorporate the logo into the logo for our Users Group? Thanx, Dennis P.S. I'm back in business with ATO, I don't know why the program was hanging up, but it's fine now.

Jamie, I've been perusing my April `88 copy of CADalyst with unusual interest, since reading the `Blips on the CRT' column written by David Cohn. In it he implies that he is privy to info that suggests MS-DOS is not long for the ADESK camp once Release 10 hits the…
