The June AW is out? I have a subscription, but live in Hawaii… not one word, eh?
You understand that the new PC comes with choice of cassette tape or 8" floppy drive? AND, as an added bonus, it's upgradeable to a 286!!!
Hey, what about the dust dog (slightly larger, more aggressive, known to growl under children's beds late at nite…. or the dust rhino?
Well, no thanks then!
WHAT?!? And lose my valuable collection? It took so long to build…

TOP TEN RUMORS OF THE WEEK ___________________________ 10. C= played possum! Will buy Samsung on Friday! 9. Elvis' ghost seen in empty West Chester building 8. Ali is actually Bill Gates' night job/alternate persona 7. Ali has an Israeli alias on CIS (see "AMIGADEATH" thread) 6. Jim Drew kidnapped by…
Heh heh – the only thing I have in boxes around the house is DUST bunnies!
HAHAHA – can you imagine exec's from IBM, Apple, Intel, ect. going to Asian C= factories to re-learn how to make computers? hahaha
Yeah, but jeez, you'd figure some other company that's a little healthier would take the risk for a _mere_ 13 mil (heh heh – like I have that much just lying around in old shoe boxes).
RE: last line What reputation?
That sounds sensible, as opposed to a lot of cr*p floating around here lately (Lord knows I have contributed my fair share). I just thought it was weird Hitachi would announce something like that right now, and I had read a rumor in this forum about them scheming some castle-in-the-sky…

Does anyone know if the announcement today from Hitachi about setting up a new company in the UK has anything to do with C=? I read in the CIS Online Today that Hitachi is serious about getting into the microcomputer market… the timing and location seemed a little coincidental.

I am trying to get rid of a _very_ nice engagement ring (never used) so I can buy some more 'bells and whistles' for my Ami. The ring has 1.63 total kt. wt., with a 1.01 center diamond, SI1 and color J. I will fax the appraisal to interested parties…
According to this magazine's application listing, yes – will post more on this later today.
Well, I tried it (I know it's _supposed_ to be Epson compatible), but the output for Prowrite looked pretty shabby for CG fonts. My main purpose in writing that post was to find a good driver for CG fonts. I _did_ get pretty good results for CG fonts with the…
You read that too, eh? I actually called AAFES' Dallas office to find out when they'd have more C= stuff in stock. But, no, the only C= stuff they have anymore is AW – and I've got a subscription. No, this mag is not really connected intimately with C= products…
I'll look for it in the PX tomorrow – it was one of those video mags which concentrate on tape formats, monitors and cameras, and less on stuff like title makers. I was pretty shocked! btw, they also listed the C= A3000T for $2800, and some version of MacII(c?) for…

Guy gave me an old Star NX-1000 printer…. used to have one with my A500, and it worked pretty wll with the EpsonX[CBM_MPS-1250] printer driver, which, for some reason, I can't get to load on my 2.1 system from the 1.3 diskette. Anybody know why?
Oh yes! They are all in Mr. Gould's garage in boxes on the top shelf… you know, the shelf above the document crates?
I don't think I could stand having the 'in' computer… well, maybe 🙂
Hey, FYI, picked up a video mag today – it listed a PC, Apple and C= VT in the apps area.
So let's buy Samsung instead…
Yeah! A beat up looking Amiga, looking forlorn next to a garbage can, with a scuzzed out looking bum hanging out next to it with a sign around his neck "Will Multi-Task for Food"… put this in all the major PC mags with the title "adopt an Amiga orphan". And…
It's working fine:) Now, if I can just get my hard drive replacement here…

Too bad Mr. Kadafi in Libya ain't an Amiganut… he'd know what to do (EVIL G) REM: The reason we all bought amigas is the reason we should stay with them now – with the Amiga, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE! Think about it – if you really care, start writing to…

PC Emplant
Message #142430
Gads – I looked at his system again this weekend, and he has a pirate version of MSDOS-6. Some of the files were uncompressed, some were not, and some were corrupted somehow. No wonder he was having problems! I told him not to be such a cheapskate (he was willing…
You, sir, have poor manners at times, although I do respect your logic. May I suggest a refresher in etiquette? You have a valid point, but I do wonder how you manage to stay in business these days without taking the huge risks your competitors who stay in the Amiga…
Jim – I am currently in the US Army, but I will become a civilian in a couple months… later, I will have a nice separation check. Not only am I willing to commit some money, in a _small_ investor king of way, but I am willing to offer my…
I don't know… much as I find the pessimests distasteful in their timing, bless them one and all. Their presence here reminds us that we must, at some point, stop talking and act. They also provide good ballast vs. some of the balloons going up…
Soooo…. PowerPC emulation for the Amiga?
Ach, what's money when you have fun with your job?
Andrew – I think you are wrong – the potential is there for Amiga to make a huge comeback. From what I understand of this new EMPLANT card, the Amiga could be marketed with full IBM 486 AND Mac compatibility, and run most Mac apps faster than the Macs themselves.…
Nah – I think the future is more along the lines of anonymous Amigans huddled in dark corners, making chips and trading them in alleys (pssst – hey, Bud? wanna buy a Denise chip? almost never used…)
You still gotta get with the plant manager in the Phillipines… he's gotta coordinate business moves for all his employees to your garage.
I just posted a message to a guy who offered use of his garage (lol)
Oh, did I forget to mention he bought a Tandy? (Oops)
So when do I report to work, boss?
Hmmmmmmm……………
Maybe some oil rich arabian prince is looking for a financial adventure…. know any rich arabian princes?
True – but then again, some of the old wax cylinder phonographs are worth hundred$. Might be my grandkids who clean up…
JRCOMM. I know, I know, it's very simple – my 3 1/2 month old daughter is teething and I was up till 5 am… while driving my wife to work a couple hours later, I sat at a green light for what must have been 2 minutes… even JRCOMM was…
Oh well. Browsing thru the local paper (Honolulu Advertiser) I see an ad from Computer City for Crapintosh Classic II's for $699 (complete system). Gads, does it rrreally have to come to this?
Well, I keep telling her 'you'll be soooorrrrry!' but I'm becoming a pariah. I know a single guy who lives in my company's barracks (I'm in the Army) and most people swear this guy is a computer genius – yet his solution to an upgrade problem from MSDOS 5 to…
Why? I mean, doesn't a computer manufacturer just assemble the parts these days? I thought all parts in the Amiga were from the Far East or Latin American? Would an assembly shop be very expensive to set up from scratch?
No, I _really_ meant download – I've always taken the buffer for granted, but it really is a download, right? The first time I tried to save what what coming on my screen I screwed it all up somehow. The upload was easy, once I figured out how to load…

I tried to download what I _thought_ was a good buffer file – it's actually worthless junk. I _think_ it took the 2nd time – please examine both files. Also, I gleaned the info in the files from a CIS service, but I didn't see any copyright warnings anywhere prohibiting…

Message #141884
There are a couple of really good files over in the lib – I tried to get in one of my own, but it's kind of garbled and I don't know if it made it. Good reading! I might not be on for a couple days, but I forwarded my…
Well, it is so nice to hear from a realist/pragmatist in the midst of this heart-rending news. (read – you are a pessimist who is bent on destroying whatever last vestiges of hope we have for a miraculous event to occur on Monday.) We are blind men in a dark…
and I thought I was bad. You know, I guiltily found myself going over Macworld and the Computer Shopper looking for deals today… don't know what I was looking for, but I damn sure didn't find it.
