Mo, Rick, I don't think you work hard enough, you just play with computers all day! 8) Yes, Rick, move the pile, one grain at a time, with a steam shovel. Barry P.S. That first word should be "No", not "Mo".

What's the matter, Rick, too much "paper work". I thought computers were supposed to make tasks like that easier? (Or is that only in the IBM and MAC world?). 8) In any case, I think that the new forums will offer some deffinte advantages, paticularly with regards to the message base.…

Well, it looks like they couldn't leave things well enough alone and here we are stuck with 3 new forums! I don't mind so much, it'll be easier to read subjects of interest in the message bases etc. HOWEVER, membership should have been automatic! I hate joining forums and watching…

You've confused me, too. I also have version 1.4 and it is copy protected ( the version I have at least). Maybe they stopped protecting it, or let a copy slip by without it. If it Gurus when you start it, just clicking on it's icon, without loading DMCS then…

John, I just caught this string. If your problem lies within the copy-protection of either DMCS or SS another approach is to remove it with Marauder II. It works on both-so long as you re-install SS. It won't stop SS from opening, but it might stop the Guru. Barry

No problem, Ben. Fixed already? You're a hell of a lot faster than WordPerfect at bug squishing! Too bad it wasn't part of the "lost line" bug. Barry

#127816 Scheme 1.7 Message #127945
From: Barry Massoni The Amiga Forum · Audiophile June 3, 1988 3:43 PM
An idea! Instead of a requestor that pops up every time an off screen object would be manipulated by Scheme (oh, boy could that get tedious fast) use one of the unused boxes in the palette and have it change if an off screen item is selected. That way the…

Walter, Rick says there is a program that converts HPGL to Epson commands to run an Epson printer. Either follow this thread or I'll try to get you the name. Barry

It was definetly something else then. The one I used was in Basic. Do you remember the name. It might be nice for test plots, if its faster than a plotter. Barry

I remember trying that (is that the one written in AmigaBasic?) and couldn't get it to work. Dosen't it need a wide carrige Epson or something? I'm not terribly concerend though, I'm using an Western Graphtec MP 2000 that is just great (and cheap). Barry

You're welcome. Before my Amiga modem was online I downloaded to my PX-8 then transferd to Ami using a null modem adaptor. Since both my Com programs operated at 9600 baud it took no time! Barry

The 1000 is superior to the new machines? No wonder they're being replaced! I don't really need to "record in stereo and monitor in MONO…" Why anyone would want to do that beyond me! Hey, why not record in stereo while watching TV, or taking a shower! {8)

Walter, I've never used Sonix or Synthia so I really can't comment on them. It _appears_ that they offer rather flexible ways of creating sounds, but as you mention they seem primarily geared for the musician. I've also seen a recommendation to you that you consider a Sampler. Unfortunately, those…

The best imitation gong I've ever heard was made by taking a telephone bell, hitting it once with its clapper-recording at 7.5 IPS and playing back at 1.75IPS. If you're interested in artifical gongs that is.

What are your intentions for the sound efffects? You might want to try a PD program in DL 15 called DRW, it can produce some interesting sounds but it takes a while. Its rather interesting, you draw a picture, and, depending upon the color, line thickness, etc., it produces sounds-most…

I hope it works too! Tandy has had the guts to announce a PS 2 clone (big deal, I know) but at lease they're seemingly out to play with the big boys. Thor CD could make them another Sony. Lets hope they don't price it out of the market. Imagine…

The article I read said 1 year to 1 1/2. Of course this gives harware developers a chance to get ready and create a monster sampler for the Amiga. I can see why they're upset-if you were selling digital tape recorders for $250,000 (thats two-hundred fifty _thousand_ dollars) you probably…
