Oh, I dunno, I seen stupider things on the Internet. It's amazing what you find on there. Nick
Play16 seems to handle the Aerosmith files ok. At least the 2+meg version. Nick
#Vista Pro CDROM – Amiga
Message #41811
Clint, Put me down for a VISTA PRO CD-rom. I think it's a great idea. I love to just play around with the dems and render scenes, and a CD full of them would be excellent. Why not make it a combo CD with Distant Suns and all the VISTA…

"Still Philips is not totally left alone. Some big Korean companies, SAMSUNG and Daewoo, will bring interactieve CD-players to the market soon. " Well, the question is, did Philips and Samsung buy our Amiga to use the technology to make the CD-interactive finally succesfull, or did they buy it to…
Maybe 3Do is hiring?? 😎 Nick
"I'm also very impressed by the 3DO, but I haven't seen any any games that I had to have yet… 🙁 " If you like shootem ups, TOTAL ECLIPSE is the best yet. If you like sports JOHN MADDEN is great! If you like puzzle games, Incredible Machine is excellent.…
"The US price on 3DO has dropped as low as $449, which looks bad for CD32 until you realize that most of the 3DO software is in the $60 street-price range." Yeah but lots of the 3DO software is of much high qualilty than many of the CD32 titles. Most…

"The SVHS output of the CD32 is what you call Y/C." S-Video output not SVHS. SVHS is a tape format. Nick
Tom, Ok, 200mb isn't small potatoes!! Too bad about not being able to get those IC's. I could copy them if GVP didn't mind and I could find a local board! Thanks, Nick
Thanks for the info on the 3001. My board has 4 empty sockets around the IDE connector, I'm not sure what goes into those, but I might need more that just the autoboot rom. Sounds like too much trouble for not much storage! Nick
Thanks for the info! Nick
Thanks Gary, I downloaded the software and didn't want to do the install till I understood a little more about it. Your description was great, thanks again. Nick
A3001 Accelerator.
Message #72526
Hi, I left a message a few months ago, and didn't see an answer. I'm using a GVP 3001 accelerator in my A2000, it doesn't have the support IC's for the IDE controller, and I was wondering if those were available, or what I would need to do to get…
#EGS?
Message #72525
Hi, What's the deal with the PD EGS libraries? It sounds like I don't need a Spectrum board installed to get the EGS graphics? Do I need a mulit-sync monitor? Is there software that will support the EGS graphics if I have the libs installed, etc? Please tell me more…
3001/IDE roms
Message #71211
Hi, I've had the GVP 3001 accelerator in my A2000 for a few years now, but when I bought it (used), it didn't have any of the IDE support IC's. Is there a way for me to add IDE support to this accelerator? Can I get the IC's from you…
Any idea when the release of ViewTek 2.0 will be available? Nick
Yeah that Magic WB is beautiful! Commodore should use that for future OS releases. (if there are any) Nick
Thanks dude! Nick
Hey Gary, In GVP's Spectrum ad, there was a shot of the Workbench that had pretty neat looking Hard Disk icons. they looked like the inside of a hard disk with the disk and the read/write arm. Where can I get that icon? Could you upload it or send it…
Does it come with utilities that will let you display GIF pictures, and emulate the AGA chipset? What kind of support are you getting from other 3rd party developers like Black Belt, ASDG, VISTA PRO and Scenery Animator etc??? Nick

Hi folks! Just got a NEC CDR-83 CDROM drive the other day. Can anyone recommend the best CDROM filesystem I can get for the Amiga? I heard about ASIM and XETEC and a few others. Whats the best?? Nick

Any word on a newer release of TERMINUS yet? Nick
Ok Jack, I got a raw capture and my .con file ready to send to you. How do I do it? LHARC em up and send em through email? Nick
"Is the flow control on that UNIX box correct? It seems to be a notorious problem with streaming protocols on them. " I sent a message to the sysop asking him about that. I'll let ya know what he says. Nick
One other problem I can recreate everytime…. I call my friends UNIX machine and go into ELM which is an editor. I edit a file and then do a CTRL-E to get a prompt to save the file. Just as I hit CTRL-E the power light on my A3000 flashes…
" Ok, with it set to 0 how does it work?" It does work on my friends UNIX box ok, since I changed it to 0. I am getting these " Status/Error: Data subpacket too long" and "Bad CRC" errors but I don't think it's a Terminus problem since JR-Comm…
"Is ist possible to have an ftp access via CIS on my amiga?" No. CIS only offers Internet Mail. Nick
" You wouldn't happen to have the ZMODEM window set to something other than 0, would you?" Yes it is (was) set to 64. Nick
Ah ha!! Nice work Tim! I bet that's the ticket! Nick
" Are you using auto-dl challenge on that UNIX machine? Some barf on that. " Yes I am and JR-Comm works ok with it and Terminus 2.0 works with it but 2.0a does not. Something changed between 2.0 and 2.0a I tell ya. Nick
" Remove the trialing '/' and see what happens. I'll have to add something to look for that… " I was mistaken, there wasn't a '/'. It's just Work:downloads But like I said, I switch to Terminus 2.0 and all is well with xfers. 2.0a doesn't seem to want to…
I am using Work:downloads for my download path. I just tried CIS B+ and it DOES WORK for me using 2.0a. However, when I went to my friends UNIX machine and did a ZMODEM download, the transfer window came up but it just stayed there and did nothing till I…
Terminus 2.0a
Message #107864
" I must be doing something weird because my friend is having no problems with 2.0a. Hmmmmm…." Well you are now the 3rd person in this thread who is having xfer trouble with 2.0a so you are not alone. 😎 Nick
Ok, got it! Nick
" What pathname definition are you using for downloads? " WORK:DOWNLOADS/ After I found out that 2.0a didn't work as far as transfers go, I replaced the executable with 2.0 of Terminus and it did work. Would my pathnames change if I just switched executables? Nick
Tim is right about ZMODEM not working in 2.0a. I just called a friends UNIX node and tried to download a file using ZMODEM. After I send the command "sz" to his system the transfer window appeared but it just sat there and started to time out. I then called…
"Nick, yes CIS B+ and ZMODEM works fine for me in version 2.0 (this includes the "R" in the time remaining field). But with version 2.0a it's a no-go. " I stand corrected. You are right. I just called a friends UNIX node and tried to download a file using…
" I think I did a damned good job. " Damn right! 😎 Nick
For the record, my CIS B+ and ZMODEM xfers are working fine. However there seems to be a little typo when when you download with CIS B+. Download a file, and watch the "Time Remaining" line. There is a "R" after the ":" so it looks like this Time Remaining:R00:00:00…

Isn't TIME-WARNER involved with the 3DO as well? Nick
"You'll just have to count who advertises with them and who's in the list, and draw your own conclusions. :^)" Say… Come to think of it I haven't seen a Black Belt Ad in a looong time. Why's that?
